look man, go play that game with a newbie not with me. What is even the point of attacking Toney’s record when Toney has beaten the better fighters than GGG by all objective standards. I smell an agenda there. Toney beat better fighters than GGG at middleweight. That is a fact for sure.Mc Callum I, most thought Toney won.And Toney won the rematch which you ignore of course,And you have the never to go into that when GGG best win is Jacobs, a poor man’s man Mc Callum. If you go strictly by scorecards, I can also infer GGG lost twice against Canelo. That is playing by your unfair standards, it is easy. Now stay objective and try to have a nice debate instead of pulling this crap
Pretty sure Mark was on drugs that day as many of us pointed Toney out when he typed that utter nonsense. Toney in his prime at 160 would put on a masterclass against GGG humiliating him on his way to a UD.
Have a nice debate? That was done until you lost it! Toney could have beaten GGG, and it could well have been a close disputed decision either way, but that's not the point. Guys like you don't like it when the facts of James' draws at middleweight are pulled up. The fact is, Toney didn't win all his bouts at 160, he drew with Sanderline Williams and won a rematch, drew with MvCallum and won a rematch. I said all this in various posts yesterday. Now, next time you speak to me, try not to lose it when facts are brought up and debate properly because I sense an agenda too, buddy!
Fact is Toney is unbeaten at middleweight.Fact is GGG has 2 losses.Fact is Toney has a better record than GGG.Now If that is the debate you want to have, let’s go.
The fact is that Toney lost to Tiberi. Any other reading of that fight is completely disingenuous. The fact is that by the age of GGG's first and only loss, Toney had 3 losses NOT including the TIberi travesty and 2 draws. Sorry, Toney was vulnerable at middleweight. That was the perception at the time and it was a correct reading of the situation.
Toney would take Tripple Hype more serious, I would believe.......GGG was afraid to let his hands go against a blown up Junior Middle afraid getting countered and completely abandoned ANY bodywork for the same reason and his fans have more more faith in his chin then he has because he for sure did not go Bazooka on Ginger. Toney is , way more sneaky , is slightly faster and hits harder than Ginger.....GGG would be gun shy again and try to win the fight with his jab but you aint beating Toney with a jab alone, you need movement and firing from all angles similar to Jones or Griffith....GGG aint doing none of that......assuming Toney is up for it.
There was a version of this matchup done in 2018 and I said the same damn thing then. People are: 1) Forgetting that Toney was wildly inconsistent at 160 2) Forgetting that Toney got the benefit of some iffy judging on more than one occasion - McCallum, Tiberi, Johnson, for example 3) Imagining that Toney's attributes later in his career and at higher weights apply to 160 4) Comparing OLD ASS Golovkin with 24 year old Toney 5) Forgetting that Golovkin has looked imperious at 160 and has steamrolled most of his opposition without hiccups and, since I may as well turn the knife, ask this question: 7) Is the version of Toney we are talking about with or without PEDs?
They are also forgetting what a low output fighter Toney was, even at lesser weights. Tiberi outlanded him by 150 punches, McCallum by 100 punches, Jones by more than 150 punches... From his earliest days, James liked to coast and win his rounds late. GGG's pressure is not going to provide this opportunity.
Even the best version of Toney gets outworked for some rounds here and there, just not many of them. GGG would really have to put the pressure on to win more rounds, and he would never be able to, or want to, eating the leather he would. He just wouldn't, and would proceed to be more passive as he was vs. Canelo 2. Toney would simply land the cleaner more powerful blows, that also happen to look good for the judges. GGG would get some rounds Toney takes it easy in, but overall, Toney is going to be putting a hurting on him. If Canelo gain his respect counter punching and makes him become less aggressive. What will Toney do
