Will Sergiy "The Technician" Derevyanchenko finally get his dues this Saturday?

Sergiy is a fighter that I've been rooting for ever since he gave a valiant effort against Jacobs, and then also being cheated of a win over GGG. This weekend I am hoping that The Technician will finally pull this through by overcoming the odds against Charlo and becoming champion.

Always loved watching this guy perform, he has a really nice clean boxing style that's pleasing to the eye. And I think that this will be a great, explosive fight. I just wish that he finally gets his fair shake this time around and gives a great showing against Charlo.

Does anyone else think that The Technician has a chance to finally become a title holder this Saturday?

I really hope he does... I like SD... For some reason I don't think he will get the victory but if he got the stoppage so it wasnt in doubt I'd be elated.

I gave ggg the decision in their fight knockdown being the difference from best of my recollection but I've only seen it once.. Fought his heart out that night.. Gotta respect the guy

He does have a chance. A chance to win the 'fan's champion award'.

He has no chance of winning the WBC title, because we've got a robbery incoming. Charlo and the judges have it all set-up nicely. They've got the balaclavas, they've got the code to open the vault and they've got the van to drive off with the belt.

In all seriousness, I hope derevyanchenko will expose this clown. Had enough of Charlo saying he'll beat GGG and Canelo. Time to bring him back down to earth.

Derevyanchenko put in a great effort against GGG and gave him the closest fight of his career.
I wouldn't say he was cheated in the decision as the fight was too close for that kind of claim.

I did score it very narrowly for Derevyanchenko. On rewatching, I had it narrowly for GGG.

So any result that leaves either man winning by a point is credible.

And I had GGG clearly over Jacobs and twice over Canelo.

So in my book, Derevyanchenko gave GGG the closest run yet of GGG's career and could well have edged him.

Did his battle with GGG break him or leave him stronger ?

If it's the former, then Charlo might well have an easier time with him than Jacobs or GGG.

If it's the latter, look for the upset.

If Charlo faces the same Derevyanchenko as GGG did a year ago, I think he loses his 0.

I like chenko and cheered for him against ggg and jacobs. I think chenko can't get caught cold early like he usually does leading to an early knockdown. He also has to start faster he's usually a much better second half fighter than he's the first half. He's certainly capable of outboxing Charlo but the thing about Charlo is he's very mentally tough and will keep coming and trying to win the fight. The clash of styles makes this on paper a intriguing match up i cant wait for it.

Sergiy will get his dues if he wins. Will Charlo gets his dues if he wins , because there will be excuses left and right if he does.

Whoever wins will have a very good win on their record.

Very good point I highly doubt Charlo will get any credit if he wins because the excuses have already started before the bell has rang. It's a shame. Chenko will get credit Charlo not so much.

If I were betting, I'd lean very slightly toward the upset here, but if Charlo takes it, it will be his best win and I think he will certainly get the credit that such a win deserves.

I think the card looks to be the best since covid messed up the sport.

Definitely deserves it. Was tough to see him have to take his first big risk against his stablemate Jacobs and have Rozier split with him for that fight. I thought he beat Golovkin as well. Tough to see a talented, skilled guy toil in obscurity about to exit his prime without grabbing a title having been so close. I don't hate the Charlo's like a lot of people here, but I can't root against Derev as he's a classic case of the goods having to work their way into the boxing world.

Charlo-Derev really is an amazing matchup and should be fireworks.

What do you mean his due?

Everyone recognizes and acknowledges his toughness and skills.

Or do you mean he gets a fair shake?

He'll probably win the fight but not get the decision, that how i see it ending I'm sad to say. I hope I'm wrong and the better men on the night all get the win they deserve

He'll get his dues or, unfortunately more likely, get robbed.

Or what I'm fretting the most, he'll suffer another one of those damned unlucky first round flash knockdowns, and the bought and paid for PBC ref will wave it off, while Derevyanchenko's fully cognizant, doing a moonwalk to prove he's fine.
