Who would you have winning if they fought now and prime for prime. Would Breidis be able to carry his gifts up to heavyweight? Because of their similar size it could make for an interesting viewing.

I think if 30 years old both of them, then Povetkin. More higher level and fights experience in ammy boxe, Briedis mainly was ammy KBer than ammy boxer and yeah, he was amazing ammy KBer. Less boring than almost all pro boxing fights, if to be honest.
30.yo Briedis vs 30.yo Povetkin I picked up Povetkin to win this, more experience in boxing.
41.yo Povetkin vs Briedis from his last 2 fights, definitely Briedis.

Very interesting match up. I think both are seriously skilled. I couldn’t pick now, primes id maybe go Povetkin due to being the heavier man, but he had serious problems with Huck so who knows. Breidis is top 3 ever at cruiser for me, I rate him highly, extremely good fighter

In KB under full MT rules or K-1 rules I had picked up prime Briedis vs prime Povetkin.
Under KB full contact WAKO: Povetkin.

If ammy boxing, Povetkin had more impressive amateur legacy than Briedis, this resembles also level of top opponents they had in amateur boxing.
Povetkin legacy in ammy boxing is seriously impressive.

Now I think Breidis has the movement and speed to outpoint Povetkin over 12. Povetkin obviously could land something huge but Breidis is pretty responsible and his chin seems very solid (granted mostly at cruiser) amd he has enough power to keep Pov honest for 12 rounds

Povetkin is borderline shot, has lost speed of both hand, foot and reaction times, and his punch resistance has clearly declined too. Briedis is every bit as good, tough, skilful, quick, elusive and well rounded as his fellow CW Level Michael ''The Bounty'' Hunter brethren if not better only difference being he hits harder when he sits down on his shots and the version of Povetkin who fought Hunter whilst way past his best was better than the one who looked every day of his near 41 years of age against Whyte. Hunter would've stopped that version of Sasha.

Povetkin looked out of prime in his fight before fight vs A.J. This stuff is called simple: time takes this.
Briedis better hydrated and with more fat for weight ins most likley might be approx 210 lbs and even 215 lbs.
Better hydrated, a bit more fat means better resistance to punches and larger mass+ no worries about rehydration.
~215 lbs + Briedis vs approx 225 lbs Povetkin if he is >36 years old = no question I think. Briedis also finished Charr in 5 th round, 34 y.o Povektin for this needed 7 th round. This is measure how hard Briedis in good shape might punch someone.
Younger Povetkin was more mobile but no offense there, I too was more mobile when I was 32 than I was 4 years later. Time is time.

I do think Breidis like Usyk would be shut out by Fury with ease if he’s on form

Yes. They're both CW Level and Brit Level. Briedis has morphed more into a boxer of late and he throws with full power sparingly, but I think he'd come in a bit heavier up at HW and be even more powerful with the addition of the extra weight (he weighed 213¾ against Charr) albeit he's getting on in age now
