Real ones know you can't over rate a guy who had 400 amateur fights. Real ones know you cant over rate a guy who arguably beat one of the top fighters in boxing today past his prime. There are only 3 usernames on this forum that will comment otherwise...tell me I'm wrong.

I don’t think there’s a correct answer here. Both of these guys have sections of fans that underrate them and overate them to different degrees. They both still divide a lot of opinion.
Golovkin by far and away. The hype surrounding this guy made it sound like he's Mike Tyson + Sonny Liston in one package. Realistically, he was the complete opposite. All he did was call out smaller opponents for paydays and munched on bums.
The fact Proksa was ever top 10 shows that today's boxers are not even close to boxers from previous eras. In the 80s Proksa would not even be good enough to be a journey man.
Proksa was ranked at No. 10 when he was European champ, he wasn’t that bad at all. It was GGG’s first top 10 opponent on his HBO debut so you can excuse the fact he wasn’t the greatest fighter. Wilder wouldn’t even fight a top 10 guy apart from a shot hype job in Ortiz. Total joke.
I admit, I was one of those on the GGG hype train, and thought he was the baddest man on the planet, heavyweights be damned. GGG started unravelling from the brook fight. The excuses for GGG whenever he didn't look great were crazy, ...GGG got hit because he wanted to get hit. GTFOH.

Plenty of media outlets were already trying to put Ggg in the top 5 p4p when he was still a tomato can crusher and hadn't even beaten guys like Jacobs yet. I believe champs like Joshua avoided Wilder. Wilder has an official loss and a draw, both controversial. Wilder's corner stopped the fight, he wasnt actually KO'd and the damage started from an illegal shot. His draw in the first fight was well earned given that nobody in the history of boxing ever lost their title after dropping their opponent twice. Golovkin's resume is pretty garbage for a guy who was middle weight champion for years. You can say old man Ortiz was Wilder's best win, blown up welterweight Kell Brook coming off a brutal KO is arguably Golovkin's most skilled opponent (that he actually beat). Golovkin is more overrated given that nobody was putting Wilder as being one if the best in the world and in history with a thin resume. Oh, are we going to pretend like there weren't threads where people pick Golovkin to beat Hearns, Mayweather, Hagler, James Toney, Roy Jones, even Robinson? Some of those threads were made before he had even stepped up in class! Are we seriously doing this right now? Wilder was avoided by Joshua, Parker, Ruiz, arguably even old man Klitschko when he asked him to step aside so that he could unify with Stiverne. Fury is JUST like Canelo. Huge fight between 2 undefeated juggernauts was promoted. Suddenly Fury (like Canelo) abandons his belt. Suddenly Fury is surrounded by PED controversy. When the fight is made Fury (like Canelo) gets on his bike and runs and still gets nearly decapitated twice and survives with a draw. In the rematch Fury uses Kronk style (mexican style) and brings the fight to Wilder who cannot adjust and keeps doing what has been working for him (just like Golovkin refused to slug it out and kept spamming jabs). Wilder became a sore loser making excuses. Golovkin became a sore loser and even hopped out the ring as soon as the scorecards were read and fired his long time trainer Abel Sanchez. You're going to sit there and tell me the situations are totally different? Lol.

Clearly GGG. They never talk about Wilder being an ATG at HW like they do GGG being an ATG at MW. Wilder always loses all hypothetical matches while people swear GGG would win against fighters like Hagler, Hearns, Hopkins. Golovkin has an emotional and rabid fan following while most of Wilder's fans rate him accordingly. Golovkin's best accomplishments are a defending the WBA interim title and getting a draw against a JrMW. Yet he is heralded as this monster. And lastly GGG was compared to Mike Tyson. LOL. Of course things have changed since the rematch with Canelo when he got whooped MX style, and then his showing against nobody Rolls, and his controversial win against Derevyanchenko.
It is his doing. You can't blame others for his own fault. The same others you are blaming have all taken risks to become recognized names. If they had to move up in weight, they did it and if they had to move down, they did it as well. All Golovkin did was rely fully on his marketing team to deceive the public through social media until they finally scored their free paydays without having to take any risks in the process. It's a brilliant strategy, but please don't think we can't clearly see through it. There's no such thing as "most avoided man on the planet". That nonsense is a marketing strategy which was used for MANY years in the sport. If fighters like Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Ali, Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Pacquiao, Mayweather....etc all had no problems scoring fights, then who the hell is Golovkin to be "avoided his entire career"?. Try to use your head rather than your heart to easily see through this nonsense.
Wilder is a Heavyweight, he literally has no other place to go. As far as his opponents are concerned, are they THAT WORSE than Joshua's?. Let's be realistic and fair here.
