And no this wouldn't be a shut out. It would be competitive. Bruno out boxed a very good version of Lewis before getting caught. I lean towards Lyle but Lyle would have his share of trials and tribulations during this fight.

1979 Lyle would DESTROY prime Bruno.

You don’t even think it would be competitive ?

Agree. Frank Bruno wasn’t a great fighter but you HAD to be pretty damn good to beat him and even then it was never easy... Lennox Lewis, Tim Witherspoon and Bonecrusher Smith all needed come from behind wins against him. And Even Tyson had a shaky moment or two.

Damn good match up...they’re both pretty close to career wise good wins and such. I’m not can see this going the distance with a close decision kind of like McCall for Bruno. I used to Poopoo Lyle a lot but I was wrong he was a damn good contender.

Yes I do. I think Lyle would start slow and Bruno would probably shake Lyle. After that some exchanges would follow, and Lyle would quickly come on top before mercilessly battering Bruno into submission. TKO 2.

That’s an interesting prediction. Not Lewis, Tyson, Spoon nor Smith could get him out that early but Lyle does. I suppose anything can happen

I think Bruno might get off faster vs. Lyle, rather than Lewis who he knew would attempt to box, Smith, who he knew would do nothing for a long time, and Spoon, who he could outbox. I think he might get overconfident w/ Lyle and that would produce his downfall.

I highly, highly doubt Lyle could stop Bruno in 2 when Lewis or Tyson couldn't do it. Witherspoon was about the same level as Lyle and he had to rally back. I don't think he'd take Lyle lightly, why would he?

Lyle comes from behind to stop Frank in 8.
Bruno out lands him and has him looking hurt and ineffective.
Lyle always looks dangerous and threaten s to hurt him but Bruno s Jab keeps him one step ahead.
But almost as if Frank's walking on thin ice, it all cracks when Ron gets through with a thumping right hand over the top.
Bruno s legs dip and his face project s shock.
Lyle rushes in pummeling Bruno with wild, frantic shots from all angles.
Second s later it's over has Frank, his defence totally zero, is laying back along the ropes, dazed and battered.
Lyle, his right eye firmly shut, tells us that Bruno s Jab is one of the best he's seen and his right hand harder than Foreman s.!

Buster Mathis beat George Chuvalo and lasted 12 against prime Quarry, lasted 12 against Ali, and lasted 11 in a close one w/ peak Frazier, but Lyle stopped him in 2, and you're gonna tell me Lyle can't stop Bruno in 2?

    I'll say it's improbable.

That's ok, you're the one who said Lorenzo Zanon would outbox George Foreman to a decision.

Same thing when I saw Buster resume which makes me believe Lyle is the hardest puncher he ever fought and Lyle was more dangerous than anyone he faced and showed how powerful Lyle was back then.
Bugner also said Lyle gave him worst beating and that he was the hardest puncher after Shavers and Liston.

I don't remember saying that. But if Tyson, Lewis and Witherspoon couldn't stop Bruno in 2, I don't see how Lyle could outside of a fluke.
