Alexis Arguello vs Barry McGuigan, at 126 lbs, Both Prime, 15 Rounds. Could Barry do a similar job to Arguello as he did to Eusebio Pedroza? Or would Alexts beat Barry like he did to Ruben Olivares, to win the Featherweight Title in 1974?

Arguello was better than McGuigan in every department, too tall and powerful, Barry didn`t have Pryor`s power.

Double AA by late stoppage. I love Barry but AA was another level.

This is by far the worst matchup possible for McGugian. He doesn't have a shot in Hell.

I wont call a specific round, but Arguello would lay him out inside of 10... and give him a brutal beating before that KO.

It'd be more one sided than that.

Arguello was younger, quicker and sharper at 126 than he was at 135.

Yes i agree its like the mancini fight however id have barry competitive up to the 8th round..than the punishment takes a toll and it becomes a landslide and alexis closes the show withb3 knockdowns in the 14th to end it

I think McGuigan would push forward and throw more shots than Mancini did but that would only get him stopped quicker than Mancini was.

I don`t think Barry`s style is suited to fighting big punchers with good combo`s like Arguello and Azumah Nelson, he came straighht forwards like Frazier v Foreman, Pryor could do it because he was bigger and more powerful.

Loved watching mcguigan but arguello was amazing this fight isn't lasting 15 round . Arguello would be using his favourite gloves and mcguigan would be brave and certainly early on have his moments but would finish badly beaten and cut arguello by stoppage around the 11th

No he didnt. He had very good head movement balance and footwork. A very fundamentally tight fighter

Arguello`s combo`s would have been too much for Barry.
