Jel, I scored this about a year ago. This is what I wrote:

Jesus Pimental vs. Jose Medel over 10 rounds, California scoring. One point for a round, none for even rounds and an extra point for a knockdown.

    Round 1: Even
    Round 2: Medel
    Round 3: Medel
Round 4: Pimental (scores a knockdown)
    Round 5: Pimental
Round 6: Pimental (on the film this was an abbreviated round so I had to take a leap of faith on what I had seen up to that point)
    Round 7: Medel
    Round 8: Even
Round 9: Medel (scores 2 knockdowns)
    Round 10: Pimental

    Total: 6-5 Medel

Actual scores were 7-4 (twice) and 8-6 all for Medel. Not only was this fight hard-banging it was a pleasure watching the traps Medel was setting along the ropes. He had a sharp, speedy jab and was a killer counter-puncher. Pimental's jab was hard and not so speedy, but his power was evident. Damn good fight and I would have loved to have been at ringside. The sound of these bombs they were throwing had to be sublime

We were very similar in our scoring, Scar. We both scored 1 and 8 even and the two we differed on I marked as close on my card.

Juan Francisco Estrada UD12 Carlos Cuadras

Cuadras named himself "strong, fast and very very handsome" before this one and he proved a chunk of it. These two are staging a re-match of this nail-biter later this month and though the sense is Cuadras may be less than he was, it's a don't miss it for sure.

Cuadras starts fast, feinting with big shots, landing with straight shots and beltline cuffs. He looks faster. Estrada bringing very tame incremental pressure and giving ground in turn. Cuadras wins the first round clear. He doesn't push it though and looks to establish his jab in the second. Being front and centre he is there for that Estrada 1-2, but he stays ahead by being faster with the jab. Impressive. Jab to the pit especially. The impressive start continues in the third where Cuadras looks for his own one-two, doubles the left hook to the body, clearly wins the round but is becoming more available for Estrada's shots.

Fifth is very close. It seems to be nothing more than the fluid Estrada emerges by scoring with punches - so in landing punches he causes enough harm and uncertainty to take control of portions of the round. His most impressive shots are counters on the backfoot, he's still not doing as well with his jab. Very close round. Estrada nicks it for me to stop the rot, but it's arguable; those uppercuts tho.

What a turnaround. In rough terms, Cuadras continues to try to outspeed Estrada while Estrada tries to out-man Cuadras. Estrada has discovered that by risking it all in punching with Cuadras he will dominate by landing harder punches, neat, compact punches crowned by the uppercut - this is an uppercut clinic. Cuadres tries to score fast-handed vollies to negate this shot but he cant' get his work done without coming over the front foot. There, Estrada finds him with it. What this adds up to is their being 4-4 after eight despite Cuadras winning the first four rounds. A key ninth then.

They did squabble a bit more in eight it felt untidy and that may favour Cuadras if it is headed that way. And I think Cuadras nicks the ninth in that spirit. He jabs low risk, though he semi-switches a bit (maybe comes square) with the feet to get away with it. Only a couple of times does he find something flashier, when Estrada is on the back foot. Estrada comes on in the final 30 seconds but the round has by then slipped.

In the tenth, Estrada scores a perfectly timed knockdown which leaves CUadras needing both remaining rounds to win the fight on my card. Cuadras starts well and is clearly looking to change matters once more, hitting hard and two-handed once more. Why oh why didn't he just return to the jab as he had in the ninth. Estrada scores with rights over the top, Cuadras jabs and moves - Cuadras tries for the beltline once more and a one-two neatly sits him down, something between a flash and a sting. They duke it out for a while, Cuadras is brave and strong but in a small way now adrift on the scorecards.

Estrada clearly wins the eleventh; I gave a narrow twelfth to Cuadras. What a fascinating fight.

    Estrada:5,6,7,8,10*,11.
    Cuadras:1,2,3,4,9,12.

    *Estrada down.

    114-113 Estrada.

Hiroyuki Ebihara v Efren Torres 2

First Ebihara fight I've watched and he looked mighty impressive here against future world champ Torres. He bounced around Torres somewhat like a proto-Pacquiao while Torres methodically stalked him, but then he exploded every time he had Torres in trouble.

I had a hard time giving Torres any rounds and can see this as a shutout up to the point of the KO. I say KO because this was a KO in everything but name - the ref waved it off as Torres hit the floor but he wouldn't have made it back up if there'd been a ten count.

    1 10-8 (Torres down)
    2 10-9
    3 9-10 (close)
    4 10-9
    5 10-9
    6 10-10
    (59-55)
    7 Ebihara TKO Torres

I hate scoring Morales fights. I really have to curb my bias at the end of every round.

Morales got off too a real poor start, before he scored a KD which seemed to bring his head in the game. The defence he showed was awesome, and he put together some brilliant strings of combinations. He seemed to run out of gas after five ish. In round eight he seemed to rejuvenate himself, and started to pivot off to his left which let him uppercut up the middle while avoiding Diaz's left. Good strategy until Diaz started pulling him back in front of him. The twelfth round is insane.

Diaz's southpaw, swarming style looks like a hybrid of a younger Lebedev and Jose Luis Ramirez. Definitely fun to watch.

    Awesome fight.

When you say you've seen all but four, are you saying you've seen all but four of his career fights?

EDIT: I missed the word 'title'!

For someone who speaks English as their second language, it's excellent. Actually, it's just excellent anyway. Quite a bit more coherent than certain posters on here anyway....

BTW, I have seen Ebihara-Pone II, but it was during one of my late night trawls where everything kinda blends together about a fighter. I think I had him winning quite clearly though.
