When they actually fought, Quarry was about 10 lbs over his best fighting weight. And little birdies tell me he was past his best. If prime 197-200 lbs Quarry shows up ready to rock n roll with prime Norton, how does it go?

Quarry I've heard he knocked Norton cold in 1970 (sparring LA). Jerry was much quicker, better shape, and hit harder THAN THEIR GREAT 1975 BOUT. he would have counterd A very good fighter Norton, who did not fite well backing up, Jerry early on could be compared to the sluggers who ko'd Kenny!

I think if quarry was prime it would have been a better fight. Not sure I’d pick him to win. To beat Norton you either had to be a great boxer like Ali or Holmes or a huge puncher like Shavers or Foreman. Quarry for as good as he was wasn’t either of these things.

That is a little different though. Quarry was prime in '70 and Ken was green. A '73 match would have yielded the best results between the two. That was a good year for Quarry, so I could see him losing a close SD to Norton, who I think was the better fighter.

Quarry 1967-73 Would have been hell for Kenny anytime during his career, its laughable ANYONE do not think Jerry had the punch! HE HAD more "ten count" knockouts then ALI and Frazier combined, he can knock Shavers, Lyle, Spencer, Mathis, Chuvalo, Foster, around but not knock out Norton?

Unlike many others, I think Norton had a pretty good chin, not a great one, but a good one. I think he was tough enough to withstand Jerry's bombs and beat him.

Up until that Norton-Quarry brawl in 1975, that would be about the worst shape I ever saw Jerry in Physically, Best shape probably the 1970 Ali fite. I'll tell you this i never seen a fighter out of shape taking on Jerry! NONE.

Ron Lyle i might give him a 6-5 pick over Kenny, Norton would have to be at his very best to beat a Lyle, the Quickness and punching of Quarry in that Lyle fite, would make Kenny a tough one for sure. Jerry fought like a guy without a dime.

After watching the 1975 Norton-Quarry fight the other night, seeing how well a past-it Quarry did against a prime Norton, I've got to go with Quarry. If that 1975 Quarry can make Norton stumble a few times, a younger fitter version wins via TKO 7.
