It's more that he's gotten a lot of unearned praise and he's also a total diva about his purses and fight picks way too early into his career.
Gotta say from what I see with Ryan dividing opinion so much this fight is clearly going to generate a lot of hype for the sport. Overall a great thing.
Campbell is an olympic gold medallist. Hes pushed essentially a prime Linares to the edge, gave Loma perhaps his hardest fight and is huge at the weight. If Garcia beats him, and especially if he beats him well, theres no more doubting his potential.
I need to study both fighters before I can make a bold and final prediction, but I will say this, Ryan Garcia has impeccable timing. Because of his impeccable timing, he will catch Campbell, it's only a matter of whether he can KO Campbell with one shot or whether Campbell's chin is not sturdy enough. I see Garcia knocking out Campbell with either a left hook or a straight right hand, the latter being more likely since Campbell is a south paw.
Its a gamble for ryan, huge respect for the young man that wants to throw the dice on his career this early like that. If he pulls it off and beats campbell his stock will skyrocket, especially if he destroys campbell. There is a chance he gets beat up though.

So you rank Campbell outside the top 100 at the weight huh? I don't think you understand the sport, as nobody who watches and understands what they are seeing could come to that conclusion. There are plenty of other avenues for entertainment available to you that may be more friendly to your mental capacity.
I will say this. If Garcia wins against a motivated Luke Campbell, I give him props because I believe that Campbell is a style nightmare for Ryan Garcia. It wouldn't surprise me if Campbell boxed his head off.
I will be mightily impressed if Garcia beats Campbell but I get the feeling that Campbell is going to put a boxing clinic on Ryan.
I'd echo what others have said. If garcia puts on a performance against campbell ill give him his credit. I just don't like Garcia though. Yes, the self promoting and prettiness grate a smidge, as does the golden boy alvarez esque diva nonsense. Past that petty jealousy I don't think he has enough strings to his bow apart from his speed. His chin is up in the air begging for a better boxer or a lucky punch to twang it.
Well, not every Olympic medalist is great in the pros. Campbell obviously isn't bum level. I'm not sure how I rate him.
