How does Canelo fare against these fighters from 154 -168 (I left out 147 & 175, because he was green at 147 & has only had 1 fight at 175). I picked some fighters more than once due to them being better at higher weight classes.

    Canelo at 154 vs:
    Duran
    Leonard
    Hearns
    McCallum
    Jackson
    Trinidad
    Vargas
    Mayorga
    Magarito
    Mugabi
    Norris
    Charlo(s)
    Andrade

    Canelo at 160lbs vs:
    Hagler
    Robinson
    Monzon
    Toney
    Jones
    Nunn
    Kalambay
    Hopkins
    Eubank Sr
    Benn
    Watson
    Collins
    Charlo
    Andrade
    Eubank Jr
    Lemieux
    Saunders
    McClellan

    Canelo at 168lbs vs:
    Ward
    Cazalghe
    Froch
    Groves
    C Smith
    Benavidez
    Plant
    Jones
    Toney
    Hopkins
    Eubank Sr
    Benn
    Pascal
    Kessler

I'd say at this point he's going to beat everyone on the cards 154-160 unless they KD him multiple times or KO him. He can take good power in that domain so I'd only back the biggest punchers to have a chance of officially winning.

It's murky above that, a lot of smoke and mirrors so far. Let's see him face a prime proper 168+ fighter with 168+ power.
Drained Fielding, Jacobs a career 160 fighter and weight claused Kovalev fresh off being concussed by Yarde is not a good indication of how he deals with the fighters above 160 as far as I can see.

Can he really take power shots from aggressive 168 KO punchers like Smith, Groves, Froch, Kessler, Jones? We don't really know. I think defensive fighters like Ward, Toney etc. all lose to Canelo based on the judging situation. So only attacking fighters with power can win.

I'd back Froch to beat him by overwhelming him with relentless combinations and that relentless engine, while being able to walk through the counters. I think Groves could possibly snipe KO him if he landed one of the RH's Golovkin did, but Groves could get careless and run into something possibly. I think Kessler would be too big, powerful and sturdy. Jones might get some bombs through, but sort of like Groves might get countered badly.

True. I only picked 168 because I felt he looked strong there & could handle the minor transition of fighting in a slightly bigger MW division.

At 154, he goes 6-8; losing to Tito, Duran, Vargas, Leonard, McCallum and Hearns. Beating the rest fairly clearly.

Loses to Hagler, Robinson, Monzon, Toney, Jones, Nunn, Kalambay, Hopkins and Watson at 160. Beats the rest.

Loses to Ward, Cazalghe, Froch, Jones, Toney, Benn, Pascal and Kessler. Beats the rest, although I don't rank Hopkins at 168 as he never fought there.

Tbf he had a couple catchweight fights at 170. I'd pick the verison who beat Pavlik at 170 to school Canelo.

lol....some of those fighters would absolutely ruin Canelo. I could see the likes of Benn taking him out within 3 or 4 rds @ 160 or 168

As for Calzaghe....it would be the Lacy fight all over again.

Hearns destroyed Duran in two rounds at 154 and beat Benitez who beat Duran at 154.
