At one point in time, he and Ricardo Lopez were fighting on the same undercards and Butterbean was getting paid more.
In related news, it made some people unhappy to learn that the Miss Ringsider contest winner at the Forum made more than world ranked fly weights fighting at the Forum.

Conor McGregor was accomplished as an MMA fighter but has 0 accomplishment in pro boxing. He made crazy money going 0-1 in boxing.

Apart from him, Gerry Cooney was the first that came to my mind.

Well I have been told my take on Bellew is a little too harsh once or twice before, so you might be on to something. Would be interested to hear your counter argument.

Billy's fight with dear old Jack Bodell is on Youtube Cec. terrific stuff. I don't begrudge the Blonde Bomber a penny, or any lad that makes a few quid putting his head on the line.

Honestly, I think some unaccomplished fighters that made more money than champions that are way more accomplished are Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia. Dude, like honestly, they haven't fought any ranked top 10 fighters yet and they're demanding a lot of money to fight other contenders. The net worth of Haney and Garcia respectfully is $5 mill and $10 mill. A modern fighter I can think of that makes less money than Haney and Garcia but is way more skilled than those 2 boys is Oleksandr Usyk with a net worth of $3 mill. The dude literally unified the whole cruiserweight division and made a claim to be the second best cruiserweight since Holyfield. Haney and Garcia are literally just talk and hype.

I remember Henry Cooper wrote in his book that Billy Walker was on a British amateur team which famously won all 10 bouts in a match against a team from the US. Walker won his bout by devastating ko on national TV, so he was already a celebrity when he turned pro shortly afterwards.
