This is probably easier for Fury than the Wlad fight, since Vitali doesn't pose the one punch threat and is slower and less defensively tight, therefore would be easier to outmove and also land on. Vitali will face the same problem that his brother did, dealing with a fast and skilled rangier big man with a big engine. Suddenly Klitchkos can't just move and pot shot a small or slow opponent from the outside, which they specialised in. If Fury isn't trying to brawl/KO Vitali, then Vitali's chin advantage over his brother doesn't really matter. If Vitali tries to walk Fury down, how will he catch him? Plenty have tried to do that and it's not so easy. Wlad thought Fury would slow down after a while and then be a sitting duck like Wach, but it didn't happen. I'd say Fury on points. The speed difference would probably surprise people.
The difference is a guy like Sanders hit like a truck and the only fight Fury ever showed genuine power in was Wilder 2. For feints to work the other guy has to be scared of the incoming. While I think Fury is a top class boxer, I don't view him as the second coming of Zeus like a lot of this board seems to.
The old ones say we Spartans are descended from Hercules himself. Bold John Fury gives testament to our bloodline. This content is protected
So why was Vitali reacting to Byrd's feints and forward pressure? This content is protected Vitali won't be scared of Fury's power per se, but he would be unprofessional not to respect it and receive a potentially fight-ending cut or swelling that would badly affect his chances. You don't give anyone a free shot, no matter who they are.
As much i believe Vitali-Fury would be very competitive, your bottom line about "AJ is more complete then Vitali" does not mean you honestly believe AJ would win against Vitali, or do you? When i see all resulsts of Vitali´s career (especially Lewis and Sanders) and compare it to AJs career (especialy Wlad and Ruiz jr. 1), Vitali-AJ would be a 80-20 thing for Vitali. AJ has a chance to win via a cut TKO, otherwise Vitali will cripple him and beat him up like he did with Williams or Kirk Johnson.
No. Heavyweights of about 6'5" or better don't even reach physical maturity until 30. At 6'9", Fury will comfortably be able to go into his 40s if he likes.
Wlad was 40 that’s why fury won. Prime lewis, wlad, vitali, bowe and many others would smash fury inside 7 rounds. Fury is overrated , he’s a british hype job
Exactly. After 35-36 there's a visible physical decline in most fighters. Every year just looks worse and worse. The only reason Wlad soldiered on for that long is because his system was very well drilled and his experience vast. You can see how he slowed down though.
Nobody in history of boxing didn't decline after 35. I love how these 15 year olds think that 40 is just a number.
Make a career? It's not like they had a choice about there height is it? .. is it their fault they were bigger than most of the other heavyweights? What did you want them to do call out the NBA? LOL.. strange criticism that, blaming them for their own genetic gifts .. and let's be honest, most of todays HWs are smaller than the top three anyway, so size wasn't exclusive just to K2.. look at Lewis' & Alis era.. in fact Ali fought numerous men that today would be CWs & borderline LHWs.. Cooper, Moore, Spinks, Quarry, Patterson, Mildenberger, Foster etc (in fact Foster was only 5lbs above the LHW limit) 40lbs Ali had on him! In fact even Frazier was little more than 200lbs.. Ali outweighed & was taller than the vast majority of his opposition. Anyway size in the isn't the be all and end all, look what Ruiz did to Joshua or Haye v Valuev... & anyway, would fighting valuev have enhanced either of their legacies? LOL No.. if their success was just based on their size then fighters like Marius wach would've had the same success wouldn't they??? Yes the brothers had their faults, and are open to criticism like all heavyweights but to just dismiss them as a pair of weight bullies is narrow minded.
