Boone is one of those crazy gunslingers who's dangerous as ****. He just wasn't hard to beat, unless of course, you're Willie Monroe Jr.
The truth that the guys RJJ KO'd were stopped by other fighters? This I know. I have pointed it out. I also pointed out that RJJ's one-punch KO of whatsisname earlier was not really that impressive, and that same nobody was stopped 5 more times by other guys. Maybe you feel that it's impressive, I dunno. You're entitled to that opinion.
Ha! You’re one of the biggest fanboys/haters on the whole forum. You have repeatedly ducked my questions on the other thread. You even resorted to making another thread because you didn’t get the results that you were hoping for on the other one. You’ve really gone down in my estimation.
Here's a result or fact for you. Of 32 posters who voted, 19 - nearly 60% disagree with you. That means for every three posters you can find who agree with you, there are five who will agree with @Loudon, or @THE BLADE 2 or @dinovelvet or @Man_Machine (out of interest, why do you switch the two words? It's not exactly a pithy play on words.). One of the problems people might have is accepting facts out of context like you saying a high KO% is the mark of a puncher (which it is but to what extent all depends on the quality of opponents. Even average punchers can have a high KO% if their opposition is a low standard), or that knocking someone out more quickly than others is the mark of a puncher (possible but not a definitive criterion. I demonstrated to you occasions where acknowledged hard punchers did not finish an opponent as quickly as a lesser puncher to try to show you that it is not quite as clear cut as that. It sailed over your head.). Or you pushing the fact that GGG knocked out middleweights who weighed upwards of 170lbs. Here's some context. GGG probably weighed much the same having had exactly the same time to rehydrate. HE WEIGHED IN AT EXACTLY THE SAME TIME! Similarly, RJJ fought in the era of day before weigh-ins. The men he fought at 175 likely weighed nearer 190lbs when they got in the ring with Roy. Had you even thought of that? As you might say. It is not a fact, at least to my knowledge as you failed to add a source to your claim, that RJJ tested over 5 times the legal limit for ... I don't know what. So, somehow you are privy to how much over the legal limit he was; you're just not privy to what that might have been. You really have been playing a blinder, haven't you? Can you see how people pick holes in what you say? Couple of things to add, neither of which are fact but might be worth considering. It's perfectly possible that the opponents Jones was facing were on PEDs too. And here's another thing. GGG is from a former Soviet state. They knew a thing or two about doping in those places. I would be very wary of that moral high ground. In fact, here's something for you. GGG tested 10 x over the legal limit for PEDs. I'm not going to say what nor am I going to say when, where or give a source but you must accept that as fact. In case you haven't spotted what I've done there, I'll tell you. I've done exactly what you did. On top of all of that, you have repeatedly mocked mental handicap, even after it has been pointed out to you that it is offensive and, in my case, given a very valid reason for asking that you stop. Let me refresh your memory as to what you said in Post#99 'let me know if you have a problem (mental handicap) so I can skip your posts'. Just, wow to that level of obnoxious ignorance. How about you rate the other 15 posters who have disagreed with you? Or better yet, how about you rate your own performance in this thread? If you're struggling, I'd be happy to help. Put it this way, if you were going to rate yourself one out of, say, a hundred, I'd probably have to advise you that you were being a bit overly generous.
Context matters. KOing someome who went the distance with Nigel Benn twice and taking his best, but being stopped at the end of his career, is more impressive than KOing someone coming out of a two year retirement and moving up in weight, giving 15lbs or so on the night. GGG has no stoppage win over a fighter as good, or tough as Thomas Tate. That's not an opinion, that's a fact. Feel free to try and wiggle out of it. I have no idea of you're talking about Sosa or not, but it sounds like it. If so, watch him fight. He has an iron chin, and only someone who hasn't watched him, or doesn't understand what they're watching would dispute that. What's-his-name sums up GGGs résumé quite nicely. Well done. Well, if you think Michael Watson was a **** verison of Martin Murray, I don't expect you to understand what I think. And if you prefer wins over largely unproven no-hopers, to proven iron men who were bigger than Jones. You're entitled to that opinion. But it's objectively wrong, and the poll reflects the truth here.
Golovkin punched harder. Fighter's sparring needed to wear body protectors. Jones' quicker tho so some of his knockouts at 160 look good. If in doubt, the smart money is always to go with the the more advanced, more recent fighter.
Like I said Jones is very popular at ESB. GGG is a non American white guy, and to be frank here at ESB there are many who hate on that group. I see you are a relatively new poster here. Maybe you not aware of that fact. If I were to post this thread in Eastern Europe, I bet GGG Wins by a bigger margin over Jones in the a " Poll " I also think the people in boxing who have to have a credibility standard would pick GGG> Nothing is really settled in a popularity poll, but I do have closing arguments in the GGG vs Toney thread where I will ask you, Man_Machine, Blade, and Loudon to answer honestly. Are you game? Please do let me know, I think it will be a revelation, and many will say oh, he has a really good point and either run away from the obvious by not replying ( Blade and Machine man are good duckers ). Its on my to do's for tomorrow.
Coming from a guy who listed super welters in Jones KO total at middleweight, that's rich. A typo, right?
I answered all your questions, including the ones where fanboyism meets excessing excuses and whining. I do have some final points to make on GGG or Toney. Give me an honest reply, but first, to test the waters, do you think GGG is am all-time top 25 middle weigh or not?
Vanes had been in training for some time, you realise that? It's not as if they wheeled him out of the retirment home. As tough? Possibly. Tate was tough. As good? Are you seriously making the case that Tate is better than Murray, Lemieux, Geale etc? I think you misspoke there. What weight did RJJ fight Sosa at? What weight are we talking about with relevance to this discussion? You should watch more boxing. You should watch the footage. ^Opinion.
You're so full of ****. I literally said when I told you it was a typo that I didn't include the 154 fights (and I didn't include the 168 fights) and that putting 23 instead of 22 was the typo. A fat finger. That's a mistake, I admit it.
Training for what? To stay in shape or for a fight. I shouldn't need to tell you the difference. I'm not making it out. I'm stating a fact. Given that there's a solid 90% chance you've never seen Tate outside of the Jones fight, you'd have no idea. Convenient that weight only matters now. It hasn't been an issue for anyone else over the last 10 pages. We're talking power at 160, right? Well given that one man spent his entire career there, and the other spent less than a third of his career there, but moved up and KOed bigger guys, I'm sure it's fair to say Jones' above middleweight achievements still count here. Unless of course, you're implying Jones got marginally better as a puncher as he moved up in weight. You should watch more objectively. You should stop talking ****, and take your own advice. Watson was levels above Murray. Anyone with functioning eyeballs and their head outside of GGG's anus can see that. Dispute it.
You comment on how to score fights you haven't even seen You have no leg to stand on when calling people "rich"
