Idk. Because Marciano could beat outstanding punchers and i think Dempsey never did this.

I think measured pressure sums him up pretty well, atleast compared to Dempsey's much more reckless style. Marciano would pressure, but he'd pace himself brilliantly, avoiding exhausting himself, so he could keep the pressure on.

Marciano started slow, Jack comes out blazing and drops him, then he stops Rock in the first 3 rounds

On his best night, Dempsey had a chance to beat any ATG

    I'd narrowly lean toward Marciano.

Based on what? Some tall tales and knocking over some stumblebum White Hopes?

No one that Dempsey beat could do the same to Charles or even Walcott... Or even Moore.

Wasn't it the legendary Ray Arcel who had endless praise for Dempsey, saying he would take it to Ali?

I'd say Ray was *the* most qualified..... having seen and trained so many greats....

Why does it matter what Dempsey's opposition could do to the greatest light heavyweights and arguably some of the most skilled heavyweights to grace the sport? It matters what Dempsey could do to them if that's the question. Couldn't matter less if say Jess Willard soundly beat all three or got thoroughly outboxed.

Your history of arguments around Dempsey are based on what his opposition did or didn't do rather than what he did. Never have I ever seen you hold more modern fighters to this standard.

That's because his analysis of fighters is this:

The more recent era, the better they are comparatively.

    ...
That sums up the theme of every post

I know there are no outstanding heavyweight punchers on it.Walcott would probably be the best.Rocky faced very few bangers,it's just the way it went.

Are you sure? There's a lot of criticisms you could level at Marciano but I don't think this is one of them. Moore, Layne, Louis were all big hitters.
