Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the year that Roy, Floyd, and Ward are eligible? If so, those are the three shoo-ins for this go around. Roman has a shot of eventually getting in on a slow year, but as Chris said, it's possible he might never.
Is it three years or five for them to get in? Coz of its three then Floyd and Ward can but Roy can't. His last pro fight was 2018, but Toney can get in. So can Wlad. Obviously none of them can if it's five.
The rules specify, that the 3 with the most votes will get in - BUT anyone who gets at least 80% of the votes, will make the cut. Since each member of the voting committee can name 5 boxers, it's theoretically possible that 5 men will get in. The 5 new names on this year's ballot - Mayweather, Ward, Klitschko, Toney, Cotto - are so strong, that it's not unlikely, that each one will get at least 80% of the votes. In fact, I will be slightly surprised, if that doesn't happen!
I can just see Floyd giving his speech: "I'd just like to thank Floyd Mayweather, cause like I said before, without me, wouldn't none of these guys be in the Hall of Fame."
I never understood the ‘if Arturo Gatti is in this guy should be in’ argument by people who say Gatti should not be in. If you don’t think he should be in, don’t use him as the standard for who should be. I’d put Santos Laciar in before Roman but that’s just me.
So in your opinion I must be guessing, and don't really know who is in? I wish you were joking - but I'm afraid you're not. So sad!
Are you telling me, that you have been on a history forum for 6 years - and still have no idea how to check, if someone is in the HOF or not?
Ok, I'm a very patient fellow, so I'll ignore your insults and help you out. Let's use Mosley as an example. All you need to do is look him up at BoxRec: https://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Shane_Mosley Notice the logo at the right... the one that says Boxing Hall Of Fame, Class of 2020? What do you think that means? All boxers can be checked like this in a matter of seconds. Another way is to go on IBHOF's homepage, where you have lists of ALL the HOFers. Press "Inductees" and pick your category. Like "Modern", where Mosley belongs. http://www.ibhof.com/pages/about/inductees/modern.html
What is wrong with you? I have shown you two ways to verify, that Mosley is indeed in the HOF... and yet you continue with this nonsense! As has already been explained (post #22), boxers are now (since last year) eligible for induction after only 3 years out of the ring. Which is the reason, why both Mosley and Hopkins are already in - despite both having their last fight as recent as 2016.
What are you talking about? I'm explaining to you, how easy it is to determine, if Marquez is in or not - and you respond with this, which has nothing to do with anything!
