On paper, this is actually a very good fight.

Former heavyweight contender coming off his best win in two years against a former cruiserweight champ, against a former cruiserweight champ coming off a two year lay-off.

In reality, we all know Murat is going to kick ass, but it still has an "anything might happen" quality.

I am glad Gassiev is back, but I was really hoping Johnson would take a couple more that he would win and retire on top. He must have made a good chunk of change--not sure why he has to stick around getting his brains knocked out forever.

God I hope he does not end up another Jeff Lacey. Too young and talented.

Yeah that would be a terrible shame. Really likeable guy too. Thankfully he's still only young (turns 27 in a couple of weeks) and he had a very brief amateur career (25 fights IIRC) and hopefully he's completely recovered from his injuries now and can crack on with his career.

Any idea why a guy his age got so many injuries? Maybe he is lifting too many weights or throwing everything into every punch like glass body Wilder?

No idea to be honest. He didn't take up boxing until he was 15 and he's still young at 27 (28 in a couple of weeks).

John Fury advised against taking on this man in 2018 as Tyson Fury's first comeback fight.

"Sefer Seferi, a sheet of muscle at 16 stones, as fit as a butcher's dog, believes in his own power, he's got that speed. If he wasn't fighting Tyson, he'd upset a lot of people this man, he'd stand there, wait his time, he's good at catching shots and when he lands a bomb, he's gone. That's all you need, is a bomb like he's got. Look at the size of this kid's hands. I'd rather fight a man 20 stone, 6'7'' than a man 6' and 16 stone. He's a problem. I've said it first."

Murat Gassiev will have to leave it all in the ring.

Decent enough fight considering the Gasman's ring rust. If he can KO Johnson that'd send a major statement to the other heavies.

Just hope Gassiev doesn't come into the ring looking like a tubby werewolf, but keeps his lean trim conditioning and sharpness.

    EDIT: Didn't see above posts.
