Unfortunately boxing isn't like basketball or any other team sports. Stop worrying about what people think. Tell me, do you rate fury as a boxer?
I honestly couldn't care less what other people think about Fury, or my opinion hahah. Fury is a decent boxer. But you cannot rate him that high because he hasn't fought great opponents. He has Klitschko and Wilder. And that's it. And every time he has another opportunity to step up and fight someone good, he instead fights a bum. Just like now. Can you give me one good reason he hasn't fought 27 out of the top 30 guys in the world right now? I'll wait...
That's completely the opposite of what you were saying. You were 'concerned' I'm not defending his choice of opponents at all. Nobody can really apart from the first 2 when he came back. I'd love to see Fury fight better guys but it is what it is. He is still a brilliant boxer with unique attributes in this division.
But he's not the best. And definitely not the best based off one fight. And he definitely should be questionable after getting caught on PEDs. Similar to Lance Armstrong
He's agreed to fight Joshua next in a 2 fight deal of course he is going to take the easiest option. Do you understand anything about the business of boxing? He is a prizefighter.
Yes I understand fully. I understand that if 4 out of your last 6 fights include Pianeta, Wallin, Schwarz and Sefari, then you are not the number one heavyweight. You have a great team behind you, selecting weak opponents to make you look good, like Wilder had. But you are not a great champion. Nor are you number one. Also, if you take steroids, you are a drug cheat for life. Especially when you show up to a rematch at 273 with power out of nowhere hahaha. Hearn offered the AJ fight years ago and Fury turned it down. So taking the fight now doesn't impress me as much as fighting good opponents would. But both Fury and his team know that if he were to fight good opponents, he would lose to some of them. That's why he has skipped 27 of the top 30 right now. Similar to what Wilder was doing for year, except worse.
Compare AJ's resume with Furys over the last 5 years. You tell me. And this is boxing. The point is supposed to be, that you prove who is better in the ring, not by avoiding fights and claiming to be the best off one fight.
Im not disbuting anything Just wanted to know who you felt was number 1 But i personally dont buy the resume makes you the best/better boxer If Man City didnt play a premiership game for a year, id still think they were better than say Arsenal Im talking talent and not work carried out
Haha, there’s only one Fury hater left as a regular poster on the British forum now that Hayers and Aydamn have departed. I wonder if Aydamn will come back for Whyte vs Povetkin 2? Surely he will if Whyte wins.
I had Hunter winning. Regardless I think Hunter is better than Whyte too, his movement would bamboozle him. Reason why Whyte picked Povetkin and not Hunter. Hunter left Hearn because he would not let him near any of his top heavyweights.
It's not really as Whyte keeps picking up nice PPV earners as they keep selling the narrative he is avoided. If he steps up to fight Fury he would be showed up and the bubble would be burst.
Whilst I think AJs resume is solid - he has boxed very good opposition since becoming champion, the bottom line and Fury's ultimate trump card is Wilder. Absolutely regardless if AJ had boxed number 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 in the world in succession, the fact of the matter is that since Klitschko's retirement there has been a "Big 3" in the heavyweight division. There have been 3 players and that is it (outside of AJs upset loss which has now been put on track.) Fury's Wilder / Klitschko wins have to trump anything that AJ has done. Whichever way you saw it, Klitschko was #1 when he fought Fury, and Wilder, both times, was either #1 or #2 depending on how you saw AJ (Likely #2 the first fight and #1 the 2nd fight post Ruiz). AJ has simply never beaten "the man." An easy way to look at it is this - in his career, AJ has never been a betting underdog. Not in a single fight, not even Ruiz 2 or Klitschko. Fury has been a betting underdog in 4 fights, Chisora 1, Klitschko and both Wilder fights.
