Well he should beat Fury quite handily then!

Wow I'm sorry for being so ignorant on the matter. How could I be so blind.

I think it would be better for someone fast, lots of head movement, relentless body puncher, and either mentally solid or too crazy for Fury to get in his head.

Usyk sort of fits here, still not established at HW though. Unfortunately he may be up against AJ first who is a bad matchup for him.

Edit: and of course someone who was "from his mother's womb untimely ripped"

It's going to be close to impossible to beat Fury, but it is heavyweight, so anything could happen. I think in the era of super heavyweights you gotta be similar in height and reach, and in this case Fury has a boxing brain. The only one who could do it right now is AJ, but it's going to be a tough fight. AJ has a good boxing brain and capabilities, but I do think he is a bit chinny. Fury has shown he's got a solid chin and can get up after taking a bomb from Wilder.

Fury is very good but he's definitely not unbeatable. For a start he's a heavyweight so at some point along the line it's likely he's going to get clocked and put away.

Hell, he was very lucky not to lose the Wallin fight.

Like the OP says, he's not going to get outboxed, bar Usyk maybe, he'll most likely get caught by a fighter of similar size who comes forward, engages him, manages to land something big and put him away.

Aside from # 1 I agree. Can't go there. Fury has great head movement and footwork so you have to work that body, take those legs away! I thought Wallin had a lot of success to the body and then got taken out of his game plan after the cut. I didn't like Gamache's advice to work the cut. Had Wallin stuck to the body work he may have taken out Fury late. I think the only current fighter with enough skill and power to execute this game plan is Joshua. With the second wave of covid just hitting it could be a long time till we see this fight.

What is it with all this joe Frazier nonsense, people are so blinded by nostalgia they can’t even see the obvious mismatch between joe Frazier and modern super heavyweights

Bet style to beat him is swarmer...a big one with power.

Fury's style is that he wins rounds sometimes throwing 12-16 punches. He has won rounds in big fights landing two more punches than his opponent. Give him a strapping heavy who goes out there throwing 70 a round, and its on.

Fortunately for him, no quality heavy of that description currently exists, and the two who most closely fit the bill, Kownacki and Miller, are currently disgraced.

He's going to be champ for a long, long time, imo.

To beat Fury you must knock him out. That's it!

It's amazing people still come out with the ''suspect chin'' narrative after Fury takes shots from the two biggest hitters in recent HW history, Wlad and Wilder. Both hit him with RH's and Wilder caught him with flush LH's too, while Wlad did at least connect with some LH's because Fury was worried about them in the corner. So the narrative fell apart after those three fights.
Btw, Fury was also regularly caught flush by people with at least decent power: Chisora I, Abel, Wallin ...
Fury has a 'suspect chin' the way Povetkin does. He can fall over in a fight. But he can clearly absorb a lot of damage.

As for how to beat Fury, I think there are two ways. Wilder showed the first and the second. The first is you rob him on the cards after being outpointed by him. The second is you chin him. Now, it could be possible to outpoint him as a smaller faster fighter, like Cunningham, but then you risk getting bulldozed. So Usyk would have the best chance of that right now, maybe the only chance.

As for how to chin him, there's always the chance in the chaos of a fight somebody lands a peach. But normally if he respects your power he'll be very switched on be very hard to hit clean. Waiting until he tires like Wlad did could backfire as you'd have to have the engine to stay with him and keep your power later on. I think one way to get to Fury is to have sneaky power he doesn't respect and then leaves himself open, which is how Cunningham got him down.

But this is how I'd approach it. Tell the fighter to taunt Fury about his pillows and being on his bike, basically class him as a sissy coward, a disgrace to his gypo fighting men forefathers ... This could well drag him into a man-o-man brawl and that's the best chance of catching him.

You need to knock him out, because you are not outboxing him.
