He has bags of talent and I always thought he we would win a world title. Still has time to turn his life around I hope he can get back in the gym training soon.

I've already said so much about Andrew and how his career has gone on here, I'm absolutely gutted how things have turned out for him, he was such an exciting fighter, I feel like that's it now though.

Put in in the same file as Kevin Mitchell.

Mitchell has a decent enough career to be fair. Selby’s loss to Martinez doesn’t look so bad now either mind you

Properly managed with a proper camp I'm confident he'd have beaten Martinez, who is a great little fighter. We've been robbed of seeing him make a fool of Charlie Edwards and although the latter has proven he is more than capable of doing that himself it's a shame that we never got to see the unconventional style of the lad from Barry school the Croydon Cringefest.

I agree, think he would have had a very good shot. Martinez was pretty unknown and wasn’t it at some crazy altitude too?

Yeah mad altitude in Mexico with only a week to adapt. He should never have been going over there for an eliminator in the first place, he'd won his eliminator against Rosales and should have had the shot then. Terribly managed and as a result it cost him his 0. Prior to the KO he was beating Martinez and I think 3 more rounds of keeping Martinez at bay and it was in the bag given how they both fight. He gave a far better account of himself than Charlie Edwards did as a home fighter with a full camp behind him but nobody will remember that, just the KO loss on his record and then his career unraveling, sadly.

Did he fall out with Sanigar (which would be strange given Chris’ rep)?
I wish him all the best- clearly he is a talented lad and could easily become a trainer if he turns his life around in the short to medium term.

It's very tough to read this. :(

I wish him well, hope that he can turn things around and accept whatever help is forthcoming.

Well he did unretire after this, though obviously hasnt fought so who knows his intentions. He was picked up for carry a baton and diazepan though and ended up getting charged and given community service.

Hopefully he gets over what problems he has had recently.

Sad to see whats happened to him

World championship silver and bronze nedalist
    European gold medalist x 2
    9-1 record in the WSB
    Olympian

Hes one of the most talented amateur boxers ive seen. Bags of talent. Technically beautiful to watch.

Yet for some reason. No big promoter like Hearn has ever signed him ? I don't understand it.

Look at how chinny Con Khany and other English Olympians got everything on a plate.. manufactured.

Yet the two Welsh boys Olympic Silver medalist Fred Evans, and Selby who was one of the P4P best amateurs in the world...... never got nothing.
