Not sure that works really. It does not seem Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf’s children are taken up tennis professionally.

It will be impressive for any boxer to be the next Adrien Broner. Champion at Four Divisions and no one was able to really hurt him, let alone stop him.

I keep bringing this up myself all the time.
It´s his first meaningful fight since that. But the thing is the LSC himself hasn´t done **** in years.

Boxing is not a sport, you need a certain psychological mindset and neurology to be an Elite level boxer. A very gifted individual will become a psychopath factor-2 (sociopath) per minimum (via trauma in the boxing gym at an early age), when both parents normalize it. The result is a solid boxer per minimum. Throw in more inherited Psychopathy factor-1 and Grandiose Narcissism and you will have a dramatic boxer, who believes in nothing other destroying inconvenient obstacles.

The tighter the breeding inside the boxing genepool, the more refined the offspring will be. With genetic engineering, no actual breeding is necessary, its almost certain within a decade extremely superior Tiger Muhammad like boxers will start dominating the sport. The know-how-to is already there, all is needed is normalization.

If Gervonta can do as much as Broner that will be impressive, maybe he can use his stylistic advantage over Mikey Garcia, that is a winnable fight for Gervonta at 140-147 without risking facing a natural Welter as big as Spence, Porter or Thurman

Thing about that is, I don't think Broner did that much, even being a 4 division titlist. Being a multiple weight belt holder isn't the feat it may have been once before. There are simply too many belts per division. Hell, the WBA has three alone. One being Tank. No one in their right mind should assume he's the WBA LW Champion.

Still not entirely clrear how Haney is the listed WBC champ. Ugh..boxing politics are the worst!

Belts aside, Adrien Broner is a text-book ASPD model that became a successful boxer, that is a big achievement for ASPD types, they usually get terminated in the streets or spend their lives in mediocrity and low-crime. Elite boxers had the chance to KO him, but they couldn't so there is a admirable durable quality to Adrien Broner, not a media creation or fraud.

It will be interesting to see Broner vs heavy handed 135-147 guys to see how much he can take, those are always good fights. Gervonta will eventually have to fight someone the fans want him to fight, so we will see if he is as tough as Adrien Broner

I agree, that is a feat to be proud of. If he had the mental toughness to go with his durability, he'd be on his way to the HOF.

But from a 'multiple weight champ' perspective, I see that as more of a testimony on today's boxing landscape, especially with the ABC's blantant money grabbing w/ titles.

I wonder if we'll even see Broner in the ring again. I don't think he'll make 140, and don't see his firepower at 147. He'd have to rely on his skills, which he looks to have stopped developing, to the point of going backwards.

The problem is that most PEDs used today have an anabolic side-effect, its very difficult to go down in weight without expert help. It will be very interesting to see if any Elite fighters can go down in weight, let alone a troubled boxer like Broner managing to do it. There is a better chance to see an older declined Broner in 154 title fights, fights that he is supposed to lose, he might end up winning one of them and adding a 5th division title.

Multiple divisions don't mean a lot, we liked the fact that Duran upset Barkley more than the fact that it was a new division where Duran looks shorter/fatter. Same with DLH moving up to face Tito, the goal is to see the fight happen. Sometimes the move-up is necessary, with PEDs forcing boxers out of their natural weight, now its common. Guys like Nery who try to stay in their best weight get abused for failing to do so, many boxers don't really know that its the PEDs, because they usually are not told-involved in nutrition/promotions/passing tests

Meldrick Taylor's the future of Tank Davis, sad to say. Probably not even far future either.

Gervonta will probably title hop to the easier to beat titlists. HOPE I am wrong about that.
