now that the Fury rematch is dead.......I don' t see him fighting until 2021 and he has to beat some top ranked guys and then i could see him fight the winner of AJ/Fury
Since he's free to roam outside the WBC rankings for the first time in five years, fight the IBF top-rated Charles Martin, the WBA top-rated Robert Helenius and the WBO top-rated Joseph Parker, knock them all out, move his record to 45-1-1 with 44 knockouts, and become the mandatory for all four sanctioning bodies by the end of 2021. Or a Michael Hunter fight would be a good alternative to any of the above. Any bout that makes him a mandatory challenger. Wilder will have to be a mandatory to ever get a title shot again. Too dangerous. All the snide comments aside, there really isn't a top 10 contender around today in any organization's ratings who likely even sees the final bell against him. And everyone knows it.
Assuming he doesn't retire, I can see him getting a title shot against whoever is champ after Fury and AJ fight twice, or maybe fighting whoever holds the WBO belt if Joshua decides to vacate it.
Sputters along, gets knocked out by a bum, retires. Comes back in two years when he has spent all his money. Does poorly. Re-retires. Ends up in jail for beating on another hooker.
If he faces: Tyson Fury: Fury beats him like a red-headed step child. Deontay retires and goes on to open a string of mediocre burrito based restaurants called Bombsquad. He’s bankrupt in four years. Anthony Joshua: Joshua beats him behind a boring safety first match until about the sixth or seventh, then Wilder quits on his stool because the Ring Walk music was too loud and hurt his ears since he didn’t have the ninety seven pound costume on to protect him this time. Wilder retires and starts up a successful chain of Hair Care products called The Bronze Nation. Bums outside the top five: Knocks them out while calling out bigger names in boxing, simultaneously suing the company that made his hundred and forty one pound costume he lost to Fury in. Loses the lawsuit and gets knocked out by Kevin McBrides illegitimate son. Dies during the autopsy his people seem to put him through after each loss.
Retirement, but he might whip a Charles Martin or Helenius (or below, hope it's not Arreola that would be ugly) level character if the right offer came along. As I've said, I hope I'm wrong. Say what you will but he was a hell of a step up from really marginal guys like Stiverne and Martin who held the belt before him.
Fed a couple of PBC affiliated guys, culminating in a redemptive KO'ing of Kownacki or similar and a 'I'm BACK' screaming session at a pre-placed camera. The WBC wave their magic wand after a cue from Haymon and he's mandatory for the current WBC champ whoever that may be for the final PPV cash in.
In a courtroom when he realises how badly Haymon and Finkel advised him. $100m for Breazeale and AJ x 2 or $40m to have fury bombsquad you into next year. All because PBC wanted that PPV revenue. Will have similar ring to it of Tyson and don king.
Have a day off Usyk would knock his socks off in a boxing lesson. They are similar size and Usyk is in a different stratosphere in terms of ability. Usyk would only struggle with large heavys like AJ and Fury.
Maybe Wilder can become the WBO mandatory by fighting Chazz Witherspoon, too. (LOL) Usyk doesn't knock the socks off anyone. Wilder is the most dangerous challenger in the heavyweight division. Everyone knows it.
