    Absolute scumbags:cursing2:

Another division is the last thing boxing needs. More belts = more paper champions

if other sanctioning bodies do the same the glamour division will be destroyed forever :confundio1:

I wonder how rating sites will pick this up?
You'll have a WBC Cruiser division up to 190, while all others are up to 200, and another division up to 224, while for others that will be just HW or again Cruiser if under 200lbs...
This is gonna be a shirtshow, I tell you that!

I hope there's three belts for the new division. Regular Super Cruiser champion, Franchise Super Cruiser Champion, and Super Dooper Super Cruiser Champion. Boxing just got a little better today. I didn't know the alphabelts had the authority to create their own weight classes. ****, forgot about the Diamond Super Cruiser....**** it! everyone that steps in the ring is a champion, even the loser. They can be the super runners up champions.

Aren't those the Silver Super Cruiser champions?

And I have an idea... Why don't just call it Wilderweight and end the obvious name issues right away?!

We can add that one too, there's really no limit! Seriously though, I would have preferred a reorganization of the current classes, but where's the money in that?

The WBC made a good decision, the rest of the governing bodies will follow suit, because they love extra sanctioning fees.

Crooks, but great decision, the gap between 160 : 168 : 175 : 200 made no sense at all

224 should be Heavyweight and 224+ Super Heavyweight, on the other side paperweight should start at 103lbs, straw at 106lbs, Jr Fly 109, Fly 112 this will fix the bad math between 108 and 112, also keeping 103 a weight class for men 5'04" & under (about 25% of the world population)

Around these parts it's often felt,
    That boxing needs another Belt,

If a loss was Wilder's fate,
Then a new title we'll create,

Creating more that ain't a sin,
So lets have lots of Belts to win,

    You'll find that it's a nice surprise,
To find the champ is now Franchise,

Why just have one to rule the globe,
What are you man a Beltophobe?

Most of the good heavyweights are more than 224 pound so whats the point?make the actual cruiser compete against each other like they already do while juste being heavier??

So basically all the fighters that cut to make cruiser won’t cut now and will stay at there walk around weight. Aside from wilder, hunter and povetkin the other heavyweights are too big to cut to 224. The only thing this does is allow cruisers to make money without shedding 15 pounds of water weight and the wbc will make more money and the other organizations will have to follow now. And mauricio made it sound like the name for the new division will be interesting so the heavyweight division will keep the name it sounds.

I mean protecting wilder for years is one thing but creating a whole new division for him minus the big boys justs onhe can parade as a champion still is a bit much.

This is the shittiest thing to happen to boxing in a very long time (and that is saying something!), not only because it is totally unnecessary, tarnishes heavyweight history, further denudes the talent pool, and guarantees that the cruierweight division is never again unified, but I wonder if this was not created to get Povetkin a belt to get him out of Whyte's way. Povetkin is at least marketable in Russia.

If Wilder does pick up a free title, I guess those of us who are Fury fans can at least take solace in the fact that Wilder can boost his shitty reputation a bit more and give Fury's win a bit more luster.

Still, this is shitty. Real shitty.

It would be so cringey if they pulled Hunter and those guys out of the normal heavyweight rankings.
