This. Every year it gets harder and harder to take boxing seriously. These alphabet organizations are shameless.

    Just for Wilder

    haha

They will need a division for 200-225 at some point...just not now.

200 pound men can't compete with 270 pound men.

But there is literally only one 270 pound man at HW currently. One of a kind & the best. AJ & Whyte are only 240 pound men naturally. AJ was 235 before he hit the riods.

Don't agree w/dropping CW to 190. Keep CW up to 200 and SCW up to 225.

As miniq posted above, sooner or later they'll need to create a 225 lb. limit division.

We also have to preserve the actual weight of the historic divisions as much as possible, so the other weights need to be adjusted around the historic divisions. The WBC have great minds working on these changes, humans by nature are not comfortable with any changes, but its part of life.

There should be a world title for each pound. You can have the 222pound WORLD CHAMPION for example.

Then you can have the 222pound, Franchise, Diamond, Silver, Golden, Interim and Global World titles.

That way, each of the governing bodies could sanction every fight worldwide as a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP bout.

Boxing grew, so naturally more belts are needed. The same amount of belts in an era when no one was boxing (overseas) in the same rate it is today. In reality boxing will keep growing, more divisions is much more better alternative than more belts, we let the governing bodies stack up on Fiat, in return we get decent boxing. Every new division will create more growth, in the lower weights the space will eventually be 2 lbs between each class. In the heavier weights you can easily squeeze in 5 divisions between the current 175 and 200.

This is a growth scenario, where the NBA, NFL trends are no longer around. More resources concentrate in boxing, competition gets more intense and more boxers need more belts. Governing bodies created plenty of belts in the same division to meet the increasing demand (customers), so adding more divisions is always much better. Not sure how is that even a problem, even if we split it down to one lb spaced divisions, any top 20 contender can upset the assumed invincible champion. Its an illusion, that you can maintain by matchmaking or fighting once in a calendar year. Reducing the divisions will only create scarcity and much more ducking (as the 10,000 boxers per division will have to win the lottery to even get close to a title shot)

If no other sanctioning body gets on board then it won't matter.
