I had 117-111 Lopez but was a bit split on one round which could have swung it to 116-112. I feel like those scores are debatable but it starts getting a stretch to justify either guy doing better than one of those two scores, I was thinking when watching it that Andre Wards straight out bizarre scoring and commentary was going to influence people watching the fight. I feel at this point it's worth me adding that I am a huge Loma fan and was picking him to win, and was pretty shocked and disappointed by how this went for the first 6 rounds (by that point Loma was not going to win without a stoppage or at least a knock down) and it ended up making me a fan of Lopez
Fair enough. Cheers! We're here to debate and in any sport that involves judging, there will be disagreements. I'm thrilled for Lopez. This was his coming out party, and he's a stud. Loma will be fine. it was a fun fight.
I had Lopez winning the first 6 rounds and the 12th. 7-5 Lopez. Loma started way too late, I’m baffled by his gameplan.
I had Loma winning 2, 9, 10 and 11. Everything else went to Fimo. No 10/8's. I aint all that with numbers so I don't know what that add up to.
I think this was the gameplan: This content is protected Loma was waiting for Lopez to tire out or make a mistake. He did tire, but didn't really make a huge mistake and he weathered the storm in the 8th and the 11th. Thus, Loma waited too long to get started and dug too deep a hole. Two really critical things on Lopez that let him win tonight: 1. He has incredible reflexes. Loma is not used to fighting people with anything close to his level of reflexes. Let him avoid Loma's counters and traps. 2. He has great inside punches, particularly a shooting uppercut. This kept Loma at Bay when Loma wanted to dart in and set up attacks. He couldn't just go wild. Lopez is totally legit. Better than I thought, and clearly better than Loma thought he was coming into the bout.
I think we can agree we didn’t see Loma’s best tonight. Who knows how this fight would of played out in front of a crowd. Props to Lopez he’s a beast.
