Teo Lopez landed a fight high 50 punches in round 12. That is the most punches in a single round ever absorbed by Lose-a-chenko, who was hurt a few times in the fight, and more than once in round 12. Salido & Lopez have both proved to us that Lose-a-chenko is several hundred levels below Pacquiao and Mayweather.
Yet here I am, and everyone else who's a Loma fan. And doing just fine. Not running and hiding like all of the Whyte, Wilder and AJ fanboys when they took L's. What? Are you overcompensating Boon? I didn't know you were such a Loma hater... I could have sworn you were a fan.
I'm definitely a Loma fan in a similar way that I'm a Mayweather fan. I love the skill sets both have. And as you know, I actually predicted an early Loma KO in a dominate fashion. Furthermore, after Lopez fight with Nakatani, I derided Lopez and gave him zero chance against the calibre of Loma. However, I just can't resist giving it to the Loma fans right now for a number of various reasons. When Wilder/AJ/Whyte lost, it was agreed they lost and some of their fans disappeared into their basements. Difficult to argue a KO loss as all 3 were. I'm seeing some excuses tonight so just having fun with it.
Great, good to hear, it's just coming across a little crazed and over the top, considering it still ended up being a close fight, with Loma practically ceding 6 rounds to him. Here's the reality, had Loma started one round earlier, which means he wouldn't have taken so many risks in the 12th, we'd all be talking about how despicable it was that they robbed Loma.
I hear what you're saying. I understand that I probably am coming across as a Loma hater, which is not the case. So, I'll finish that there. I had it as a 9-3 or 8-4 in favour of Lopez but I'd still like to watch it a second time. Overall, my feeling is Lopez won by clear decision, and that he knew he won at the final bell whilst Loma knew he lost at the final bell. Loma ceded those first 6 or 7 rounds only because Lopez made him do so. No elite fighter is willingly going to take that number of rounds to "download data". Lopez Sr. & Jr. both made comments before and after the fight about taking advantage of Loma in this regard. It was planned.
Loma fan here, F U to Lopez lol. But seriously I'm okay, as long as Loma didn't get put down we good. The problem was the power. The difference in size & power was too much for smaller Loma, he had to be extremely cautious in the early rounds do to the power counters of Lopez (he clearly has concussing punches). This fight reminded me of Spence v Mikey, where the power of Spence kept Mikey too defensive to do anything. The later rounds were Loma putting a clinic on Lopez, but again the size difference was too much. Loma can't take as many punches as Lopez and was bound to be hurt in the long run. Good attempt, but the superior Loma skills just couldn't overcome this weight bully Lopez. Like Mikey Garcia, I expect his power to disappear once its his turn to fight bigger opponents.
