Massivley overrated Many claimed he was the best since Ali So basically he's better than, Duran Leonard Pryor Hearns Hagler Whittaker Chavez Oscar Mosley Jones jr Holyfield Lewis Tyson Morales Barerra Mayweather Pacquiao Jmm Hopkins Toney Calzaghe Ward Canelo The majority of the above are better, if not all of them Loma the GOAT? Lol
It's a typical case of him being overrated by his fanboys and media, even though he's a great boxer who's rated fairly enough by most people.
That was the main legacy fight for a while, my favourite one to be made before the young guns came in for me personally. Mikey had the IBF and WBC belts, Loma the WBA and WBO belts. Then Mikey screwed it up by heading up to fight Spence instead.
Yes, people had him beating other top atgs fighters when in reality he couldn't beat old Salido and Lopez.
No, he just met a great fighter in Lopez. Might want to give the opponent credit for a change instead of saying the same idiotic thing every simple minded bumpkin says after a shocking result.
I would have much preferred a fight with Loma, as I never gave Mikey a chance against Spence anyway. But on the other hand, I can't really fault someone for trying to be legendary. I mean, had he beaten Spence and then maybe also Crawford he might even have surpassed Pac and Floyd in the all time rankings.
Still a great fighter, but not on the level of other ATG's. I think he will ultimately go down as an ATG depending on a rematch or how Lopez does the rest of his career.
no hes a great fighter but like most great fighters, their greatness diminishes once they move up to weight where most of the fighters are bigger than they are. it happenned to trinidad, chavez, de la hoya, hearns, duran, donaire, etc..
Overrated by overzealous fanboys as being something we've never seen before and saying he's the most skilled boxer ever. He's great but not on that level. Elite fighter no doubt though.
"Loma has brought boxing to a different level." - Mark Ant last week. Does that answer your question?
He isn't. You only need eyes to see he is brilliant. The problem is boxing fans are famously stupid. They constantly talk about all the problems boxing has, about too many belts/divisions/clauses/politics/ducking etc. About how everyone was better in the good old days when men were men and fought the best in their primes at a days' notice for no purse simply for the glory/fun of it. That is didn't matter if they had an 0. That modern fighters constantly disappoint. Then you get a guy like Lomachenko who is super gifted, takes on all comers, chases greatness, takes risks without any of the BS whilst fighting in a crowd pleasing style, literally doing everything you say it is you want and the minute he loses everyone wants to take a dump on him. If boxing is a dying sport then it's because of the fickle fan base just as much as it is for the above reasons.
Great fighter and not overrated except by this most ardent supporters. Which is pretty typical for a great fighter. I like him a lot and last night didn't diminish him in my eyes at all. He lost and that's okay.
