Admittedly, my statement is based only on my own experience and unlike professional athletes I don't have MRIs often, so yes, you're right. Even I may have had a torn rotator cuff for a longer time before it became bad to where I had it checked.

Either way, Lomachenko obviously didn't have an debilitating injury throughout the 12 round fight, if at all .

No it wasn't. If he's gone into surgery because of a genuine shoulder injury then it's going to come out in the news regardless isn't it, what do you want them to do cover it up? I agree he should have postponed, but considering how long this fight had been building and all the genuine needle et cetera he probably just thought it wouldn't be a good look to pull out, but you seem to be incapable of acknowledging there was a problem with his shoulder, yet I can cite many incidences when you have done it for other fighters in the past , do you want me to pull them up? & It's not like Loma doesn't have form with injury is it? We saw it against Linares ..

I find it hard to believe he wasn't injured going into the match given what we know. It begs the question, if he wasn't injured, or wasn't at least worried about the shoulder to some extent, it's unfathomable for his output to have been so low in the first half of the match. He litereally wasn't throwing punches, he was just moving away moving away doing nothing for half the match.

Joe Tessitore said at the start of round 1 about how Loma usually doesn't throw many punches in the first round. That turned into like 6 or 7 rounds this time which was bizarre. Frankly that length of low output time screams shoulder injury. I get the narrative of he's trying to tire the young guy out, but we're not talking about 1 or 2 feel out rounds, that was taken to the extreme here which suggests he was injured.

If Loma won there would be no injury .

I just want to make something clear. I can't stand injures right and using injuries as excuses, by fighters or by a fighter's fans. So I totally get where drenlou is coming from OK. But at the same time drenlou I can't like pretend like he wasn't injured when all facts seem to indicate he was.

He won the Linares fight and it surfaced. How would he going into hospital for surgery again not have surfaced? That makes no sense. You've also cited numerous times in the past fighters injuries when discussing certain match ups..

It surfaced because he got knocked down and looked vunerable.

Are you saying the surgery is fake and the doctor is lying?

That's the other thing. We heard about the shoulder being a problem after Linares right. Did he get surgery for it after that match? Did that have something to do with why he was off for over a year? We seriously need to know more about this shoulder problem. It's clearly been an ongoing problem for Lomachenko. Not just for this fight but for years now.

 So he went into hospital and had shoulder surgery because he got knocked down, is that what you are saying?

LOL I can't fault drenlou's no-nonsense, no excuses policy. I wholeheartedly agree with that and can't stand when fighters use injuries as excuses. So I'm torn between wanting to take drenlou's stance but at the same time I can't just like pretend the shoulder was just some made up thing lol when we've known about it for years.

And the other thing is like this injury also kind of offsets the other excuse of the size / weight classes argument right. Which has been disproven countless times by other great fighters, like Canelo for example who have moved up in weight without having the kinds of problems Loma has. "But but moving up in higher weights is different . . ." lolz
