I have to put a shout in for Jock McAvoy's 2 round destruction of reigning Middleweight Champion Babe Risko. Seemingly utterly forgotten now.
Honeyghan beating Curry to become undisputed Welterweight champion. John H Stracey beating Jose Naples to become WBC lineal Welterweight champion. Fury beating Klitschko has to be mentioned, so does Fury beating Wilder.
Duran v Laing. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...nd-laing-went-hero-zero-30-years-8102784.html Curry v Honeyghan
Frampton vs Santa Cruz 1 Was a beautiful performance on the biggest of stages Moved up in weight to beat the man at Superfeather weight who was previously undeafeated stuff dreams are made of
Stracey-Napoles does get overlooked. Accepted that Napoles was on the slide, and he was always prone to cuts and bruising, but very few British fighters have a victory overseas against a longstanding champion of that calibre. Yes, it was very much right place / right time, but probably no more than Hatton-Tszyu for example. Even Honeyghan-Curry and Turpin-Robinson I had some element of the stars aligning to them. (only Honeyghan-Curry was overseas out of them, but just illustrating a point about how Stracey-Napoles often gets missed from that company)
Nardiello was a literal ***** who probably should've been campaigning at 154lb, but wanted big money fights (got one vs Benn).
