Right debate. Ive addressed every punch landed in this round. Debate the points.. Without screaming omg get over it fights over and delusional etc. Standard casual talk on this forum basically.. Which I will expect.

    Round 2
2:40. Touch right hand to body Lopez, lands but this is not clean as Loma is already retreating with the punch

2:18 right hook from Lopez hits Lomachenkos guard, graze ear. Hence not clean or a landed punch.

2:16 right hook lands below belt (mostly) and on Lomas upper leg/hip see:

Timestamped 1:17 watch in 0.25x speed if you can't see it.

You know what this means right. Not a clean punch.

Left hook to body however v clean

Followed by right hand from Lopez.. To the shoulder /arm.. Not a scoring landed punch.

1:00 v clean left hand to the head from Loma followed by light left hand that does clip Lopez. Lopez attempts left hook counter that lands on inside of glove, parried by Lomas elbow, and hits behind Lomas ear. Not clean at all.

    Timestamped at 0:29.

0:33 Loma jab. Very hard to see but lands side of the head, not very clean, but far cleaner than anything Lopez has landed bar the left hook to the body.

0:10 Loma straight left v clean, right hook v clean, stiff jab that does land. Lopez throws a Danny Garcia left hook off balanced and as an arm punch that lands part inside of the glove on Lomas ear. But it does land (not a clean punch however) and catch Loma offguard.

These are alllll the punches in this round. Lopez was chasing him around all round 2 yet gets outlanded with cleaner blows. There's no criteria you can score Lopez this round. I'd like to hear your thoughts as to why Loma did nothing in rounds 1 to 6? Surprising because he did more in this round.. Ill come to rounds 4 and 6 shortly.. But please discuss...

Its a joke that there are a lot of you on here think Lopez outboxed Loma when in fact not only did he not outbox Loma but he should not have won.

Well if you think Lopez won round 2 at least give a valid explanation.. Because there doesn't exist one for landed punches or effective aggression

It's just a debate you weirdo.. Not some philosophical study. You don't have to participate. I'm just simply asking for those who genuinenly believe Lopez won round 2 to actually justify based on what I've wrote.. If no one wants to fair enough

Dude, you're awfully superior on here for someone who has argued that (1) body shots are inferior to head shots and (2) the reason for this is that head shots are more difficult to land.

In this round you have one fighter moving forward trying to make the fight, and the other guy is backing off not throwing anything and taking the starch out of the bout. Loma had a few moments later in the round, but he mostly was passive as was true throughout the first 7 rounds. Watching live, I scored this round for Lopez with an asterisk (meaning very close), but on re-watch I think it was actually not so close.

One of your mistakes is that you want to distill every round into an exchange of punches, but that's not how you score a fight. You watch the entire round, even when punches aren't being thrown.

I wasn't really into either fighter enough to do my own video analysis. Give your punch stats round by round.

I've justified that previously and I have not scored the fight or this round based on body punches being lesser than head punches.

And dude your saying this as if I haven't scored the entire round as a whole. Punches landed is a primary focus in professional boxing whether you like it or not and this trumps walking forward and not landing shots. Just as Lopez was being aggressive Loma was showing pretty sublime defensive skills which are overlooked and yes as you mentioned is a part of the boxing criteria.

You haven't looked at the punches at all addressed in my post it is quite evident. You do not score the round to a fighter who comes forward and does not land the cleaner blows.

Your heavily relying on boxing criteria other than landed punches and on criteria which aren't even met effectively by Lopez in this round.

Address the landed punches if you're going to try and shoot down my post.

I gave Loma rd2. Isn't this the rd where he reinjured his shoulder? That might explain inactivity in 3-6.

Just false. The first two minutes Lopez lands 1 left hook to the body and a grazing right hand. Lopez is throwing at air and occasional glove shoulder. He's pressuring Loma forcing him to not throw and has landed two shots to none so it ends there and Loma loses the round. The round however has one minute left where Loma lands numerous cleaner shots that...you got it.. actually land . Clean punches trumps walking forward and not landing end of story..

Neither man was effective offensively. Even if I were to agree with you that Loma got the better of the actual punching, it certainly wasn't by a sufficient margin to overcome the fact that he backed away for two minutes while the other guy was trying to fight him. He dug a hole and couldn't crawl out with his small bit of offense toward the end.
