Max Baer likely hit a fair amount harder then Rocky. And Louis was totally shot when he fought Rocky.
If Tony Galento's telegraphed uneducated hook found Louis' mandible, Frazier is gonna be all over dat. I just can't think of the high motor athlete like Joe that Louis ever faced. And I rate Louis very, very highly. I just think this match-up would be... as the woke kids say, "problematic".
I'll take them one at the time. Carnera was stronger than either Joe but not as skilled, not close. I'd question his ring IQ the way he'd quickly get up while Max Baer kept dropping him. Baer Bros: Max never took the sport too seriously. He had a big right but Louis sharper, faster; Buddy was bigger than Max but no where near Louis ability. Simon was a very big, strong HW for that era - he was also slower than a sloth. They were bigger & stronger than Frazier but not as skilled. Louis vs Frazier ends similarly as Louis vs Marciano. Btw many of these posted theoretical match ups are weak, some are joke material. This is a good one.
Louis isn't as big and strong as Foreman. He won't be able to force Frazier back with pushing or just being physical. The Brown Bomber was quicker and more precise than George. Could go either way. Frazier coming in low bobbing and weaving could take away Louis's leverage and throw off his only weakness (balance). I think Frazier would have success with that hook once he got inside. Joe Frazier pulls a mild upset. Though at any point The Brown Bomber could land one of those 7 inch numbers that only he could. That was just God Given
Maxie didn't actually have his right hand in the Louis fight, it was well known to be damaged/injured.
Not sure about this one but leaning towards Frazier stopping Louis, keeping him under pressure and cracking those hooks in. I know it is a risky danger fight for Frazier but I see Godoy Givin Joe fits then times it by a hundred with the Smoke.
Louis wins by knockout. The Bomber is more accurate than Foreman, faster, with more varied and better combinations. Bad opponent for Frazier, aggressive boxer with high motor, but not with the same power and technique of Louis. Frazier could only win in a war of attrition, with his stamina and "smoke", but Louis would finish it first.
Two of my favorites but prime for prime I think Joe has the perfect style to beat Louis. Possible by stoppage but totally confident on points
Not sure of the details mate, I just know that it's widely accepted that Baer was injured. Not that it would've made much difference.
