Anybody who was around boxing forums circa 2000 knows that Trinidad had the biggest fanbase at the time. Bigger than Roy's, Tyson's, Oscar's, ect. I know a lot of guys on here are newer to the sport and won't remember that, but Trinidad had the biggest online fanbase I've ever seen. The boxing social media sphere shut down when Hopkins beat him.
U.K fans are more splitted since they does not have only 1 or even 2 boxers in TOP10? Fury fanbase. A.J fanbase etc.
Fe, top end : Fury and A.J Widely known and highly ranked boxers : Whyte, Chisora, Dubois, Joyce. This is U.K. U.S fans usually only one song: Wilder 1000000000000000000000000000000. Hunter is rarerly mentioned in forums.
How would you even quantify this?? That fight occurred before your birth. When Tyson came back he was STILL hugely popular. And you know there really wasn't any message boards then. His fights w/ Holy were huge BTW.

and i'm not telling you (and haven't told you at any point) to change your opinion of floyd. i'm talking about the dangers of not having a filter for the thoughts that are running through your head. if you don't have the ability to step back and take a look at what you're doing day in, day out, and realise how toxic it is, you're inviting mental health problems as you age. just because something keeps popping into your head, doesn't mean you have to keep repeating it over and over again...
Hatton took 30k+ across the Atlantic in support, that takes some beating.... Unreal atmosphere at his fights.
So his fan base was bigger not better. Ricky Hatton had the best fan base full stop. Maybe not the biggest but most definitely the best. Without a doubt the loudest and best followed in terms of traveling.
Pacquiao fans are something else, most of them aren't even boxing fans.. just Pacquiao fans(which isn't really bad until they talk about boxing)
