All the questions seem to be about Usyk. But really we ought to be asking just as many of Chisora Will he be bake to match Usyk’s work rate over 12 rounds? Will he suddenly work out how to fight against a mover? He has struggled against guys with a good jab before, how will he work around that? Does he have much success with southpaws? Is he even much bigger than Usyk? What happens if he can’t land on Usyk, is there a plan B? I’ve seen Usyk take clean shots from Gassiev and Joyce without buckling. Gassiev’s power is hideous. I think it was Chris Arreola who said Gassiev hit him harder in sparring than anyone else has hit him. As noted above, the size between these two isn’t that great. The weight will likely be more telling but depending on how you spin it you can make a case for that benefitting either of them.
I may sound like a nutter , but sometimes I think I actually prefer listening to the boxing on 5 liven than watching on Sky with VOLTAROL BRAINWASHING every round. Mike Costello is a good presenter, if he has Andy Lee with him there'll be some decent analysis and they usually manage to come up with a better interview afterwards than the pravda one.
Not really ppv worthy but some interesting fights on this show. obviously the headliner should be entertaining while it lasts and chisora is in good shape too. I reckon he has some success early before getting picked apart mid to late rounds with the ref stepping in. also interested to see what selby has left. Again he’s also been training hard for this one and his opponent is solid. Selby to get his hand raised in a close but entertaining fight. Tommy McCarthy has a a tough fight for the ebu title which will be an interesting one
Is it me or does Derek Chisora have an overinflated opinion of how loved he is by the British public? All his career, he's basically behaved like a thug. Been caught in woman beating scandals, spitting on his opponents and generally acting like a hoodlum. Hardly what you call a fans favourite.
Yes I detest the man - Pudding Chisora made millions from the PPV Mugths on the back of an out of ring loss to Haye in Germany at his post fight presser and a good British level fight with Pudding Whyte. The thick PPV mugths fall for all his fight selling tactics time and again - he is a pudding, will always be a pudding and should be remembered as a woman beating scumbag.
The analysis on 5 Live is akin to the old days on Sky with the likes of Duke McKenzie, Barry McGuigan, Nicky Piper, Jim Watt and Gary Mason, intelligent adults with genuine knowledge of the sport making clear and insightful points regardless of if it riles the resident Sky boxing promoter. But what do you get on Sky now ?? That cookie cutter female presenter clearly just on there for purposes of 'equality', Johnny The Shill Nelson, Adam Partridge, Tony These Fists Bellew and Carl Froch all making hyperbolic statements to 'hype' the fight, zero analysis or tactics discussed (remember Barry McGuigan's tactical analysis videos before the main event with clips and slow mo ??).
Intrigued about the fight but we all know ppv is a joke. It will be a case of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" for me
