Just would like to hear any thoughts on Lomachenko moving back down to 126 and Inouye moving up from 118 to fight each other. Lomachenko won his first title at 126 and Inouye has been talking about moving up to 126 next. Loma is 5.7" height with a 65.5" reach and Inouye is 5.5" height with a 67" reach. It's not to much of a stretch to make it happen. Anyway I'm new here this is my first post I'm not sure if this is how you do it so yeah that's about it.
That's too far down. 130 looks about right for him or he can stay at 135 and just learn to let his hands go early.
I see your point about 126 but I think it's his best hope at a huge fight after his recent loss and it wasn't really that long ago he was fightingat featherweight. I also think Loma is finished at 135 unless he can get a rematch with Lopez and beat him next time.
He isn't that much bigger loma won his first title at 126lbs and Inouye is planning on moving to 126lbs next. It wasn't that long ago Loma was fighting there. Inouye's reach is 1.5" longer and is only 2" shorter
Loma is a lightweight. If he moves down to fight a 118 pounder at 126 after losing his titles at 135 it may be the biggest tail tuck in the history of sports
Loma's listed height is suspect to say the least. (Even those stats above seem very odd. An oriental fighter with greater reach than Loma despite being smaller? Orientals have the shortest relative limb proportions on average.) Looking at Loma next to Campbell (listed 5'9/175cm), he definitely does not look only 5cm shorter. I think he's more like 165cm/5'5. That would better explain why he looked so small next to Linares, Campbell, Crolla, Lopez ...
He's only getting older. I'm sure 130 would be a good cut for him but anything lower than that won't be.
He has no choice to move back down unless he can get a rematch with Lopez and get his titles back. He isn't going to just fight at 135 in non-title fights. Also many fighters have moved back down after moving up in weight and not succeeding at the weight. Lomachenko won belts at 130 and 126 already moving back down for a super fight with someone as highly regarded at Inouye who no matter what some people in the thread seem to believe isn't in fact that much smaller than Lomachenko and will be moving up soon.
