Teofimo Lopez vs Viktor Postol???

Fighting postol as his first 140 fight is a very bad idea.

 

I wouldn't advise it. Postal is tough and a very good boxer. He'll have size and durability to take Teo's best punches.

 

I’d actually pick Postol

 

Postol might actually clown him. Keep him at the end of that long Ukrainian jab.

 

Sort of how fighting Loma as your first defense was a bad idea.

 

Not a very apt comparison. Loma was smaller, not as strong. That's would not be the case for Postal. Postal went the distance w/ TC and Josh Taylor so far. Took the bombs from Matthysse and KO'd him. It depends on how much Postal has left in the tank for me. But in terms of first fight at 140, surely there are better choices then a dangerous high riskl/low reward spoiler.

 

Like other good fighters in history, he may've given them good fights but he lost. He's 36, but his height (5'11) would trouble Lopez.

Postol probably wouldn't win, but a fight that low reward and that high risk is never advisable for your first fight at a new weight. Fight someone like Vasquez, he deserves a nice payday after that last fight. Plus, it's a stern test and will be a big statement if he looks good/stops him.

 

Actually that's a very interesting fight… Two really good jabbers who like to dictate the pace of a fight & hold centre ring really well.. especially considering postol is 37 now, i think when you consider where both men are at in their careers right now and the precision , power & youth of Lopez .. it would probably make him a bookies favourite.. I don't think Lopez will have any problem fighting light welterweights either… Considering he probably walks around at over 160lbs.. Fury said he is one of the 'strongest biggest little men' he's ever met… And I kind of get what he means.. Interesting fight..

 

Wasn't Teo's hardest fight to date against a tall rangy opponent? Where he looked very precarious? So now he's gonna go up in weight, and fight perhaps the best tall, rangy opponent one weight class higher, who has a proven chin, is tough, and has a very awkward style to contend with?

Postal is a computer game, albeit a very good one. Postol is the name of the fighter, learn to spell boxers names correctly, if you take a 17yo's advice, Lance.
