    Name some fighters who always showed tremendous amounts of guts, courage & heart, but lacked a good chin.

    Floyd Patterson is the poster boy.

    Bob Satterfield, Juanma Lopez, Gamboa, Amir Khan't and plenty others meet the measures too.

    Both Michael Moorer and Vassily Jirov come to mind.

    Moorer showed balls galore against both Cooper and Holyfield(2nd fight).

    Fernando Vargas is another guy that comes to mind. He would fight to the death but got rocked by a lot of dudes.

    Bit harsh on Floyd George. Only iced by a couple of legendary punchers. I'd say Amir is the poster boy for this group.
    Richard Dunn had tonnes of courage but would take a knee in a strong wind.

    I have always felt that people confuse heart vs. chin, esp. in the case of Earnie Shavers. Most say he was chinless. But then he has several fights where he seems tough as nails, right? like when he fought and beat Ellis, Roy Williams, and Jeff Sims, as well as distinguished losing
    battles against Lyle and Holmes (the second one). Chin, or guts? Guts.

    Michael Grant deserves a mention. The big guy had one of the worst heart/chin ratios in history.

    He couldn’t take a punch but kept getting up for more until he couldn’t.

    Herbie was a bit undersized for a modern Heavy too but still fought bravely.
