I want to see Gassiev operate at HW a bit more before I get too excited about that matchup, though if he's back to his best, ooh boy.

That KO he got over the weekend didn't tell us much.

    This...
It was poor, del repeatedly did the same thing and Usyk had no real answers.

I couldn't read the op either.. What a load of rubbish.
Usyk has been over rated massively at heavy, simple as.

If you can't beat delboy very convincingly, then, nuff said.

True, although it got him out and that was important. He was meant to fight Kingping initially, which I thought was ideal. If he's out again quickly I'd still be into it.

Make Briedis fight Allen or something in the interim, just for banter.

Not as convincing as haye, or fury, or... Shall I go on..

I dunno, I just don't see Usyk doing much, ppl love him but I'm just not fussed on amateur style fighters myself.

    To each their own though.

Not as convincing as those two for sure but I think it stops there, because - on my card at least - he did better than Pulev, Whyte (first fight of course), Helenius and Kabayel. Not exactly the elite club but at least two of them have been top 10 - or even 5 - fighters over the last few years.

I think we get excited about him because that division isn't blessed with fleet footed boxers. Style wise, someone who can move and throw plenty for 12 rounds is going to be an absolute nightmare.

I caught it in round 7 and had the commentary off as I watched it at dinner

I had usyk winning what i saw didnt think i gave chisora a round. Was shocked to see people thought it was controversial

Usyk seemed a little slower and got hit but its boxing you get hit. He took the shots well. He buckled chisora a few times

I'm still skeptical of his chances at the very top not because of last night but I've been slow to get on board

Usyks defense was pedalling away on his bike the entire fight, don’t think I’ve ever seen a heavy cover so much ground over 12 rounds. He won’t be able to do that against younger, fresher fighters that can move their feet, throw straight punches and not gas out after 4 rounds. Not having a hard, hurtful jab really made things difficult for him last night.

If $ enough, I think they might ageree. Not for peaunts of course.

This is not well known. How much this Briedis might get for fight vs this Allen?

    Povetkin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    ~225 lbs, well known.
Suitable for both, Briedis and Usyk to get paychecks, enough long time well known. Especially in Europe.

Usyk 8-4 for me... Chisora did OK early but blew his load.. Fair play to him I thought he was gonna quit at one point and he definitely got rocked.

That tells me usyk has some power at heavy but I genuinely don't think it'll be enough... I was expecting a rerun of the gassiev fight but chisoras size made it difficult for usyk.. He adjusted well but for all his fancy footwork and pity pat combos he didn't look particularly comfortable.

Chisora is a hard night's work.. He just comes at you pretty relentless til he slows down....and usyk did what he was supposed to.

I just genuinely think he won't be able to cut it against the big boys... Especially not fury... And this isn't meant to be disrespectful to usyk I love his fight anyone anywhere attitude and willingness to challenge himself I just feel like he will come up short and in a way he's lucky this is a relatively weak era at heavy and its not the 90s anymore .... He might pick up a belt... But on last nights display... I doubt it

I was only kidding. I’m happy for Briedis to take a lighter touch before a Povetkin. Although he near killed Chart before so probably doesn’t need it

Any HW who throws non stop bombs for 4 rounds will gas. Its simple biology. A 250 pound man cannot sustain that kind of workrate.

Chisora was doing 360s, he was swinging for the hills like a man possessed… I've only ever see him outboxed to that extent by Fury & go balls out like that against Vitali.. Usyk Coped really well with the pressure of a 250lb individual and once he'd found his rhythm he cruised, truth is he boxed circles round him.. sky need to get rid of some of those people they employ to discuss fights like Bellew & Nelson for example because they are butt hurt cringe individuals letting their emotions cloud their judgement to an almost embarrassing extent,
that was vintage Usyk, he did exactly the same thing he does at cruiserweight… people were wondering beforehand can he replicate that at heavyweight and the answer is yes. Chisora is the ultimate gauge fighter (especially when he's on it!) & Usyk tamed him with relative ease. People are just hating because they are petty sad casuals that want big KOs & juiced up bodybuilders knocking lumps out of each other after they've been escorted to the ring by a rapper shouting nonsense

Charismatic Enigma? I’ll tell you now Usyk is no Jeff Hardy.

Usyk is a fine technician but he’s about as charismatic as a tree stump and nearly as enigmatic.
