Gervonta Davis who turns 26 this week is over-protected. He needs a real challenge, instead of fighting faded smaller men. He's stagnating because he's being matched TOO carefully. He should fight Lopez next, but we all know he'll probably face another faded featherweight.
Some people dont improve. They have a good skillset earlier than their peers so it makes them seem so much better. Everybody else catches up. For me its tanks power makes him complacent, like Tyson. That last round he just decided that he was going to take cruz out and cruz had nothing in his arsenal to stop him.
Well on an individual basis, I agree. Tank still has youth and like you said, he has that power. But something that also likely has affected him is his lack of dedication.
Davis needs to fight Lopez and Loma next year. Then have a huge money fight with Garcia at the end of 2021. Provided he beats Lopez and Loma. I think that would silence many critics. Very tall order, but achievable.
