What are some of the best single punch landed that changed the course of a fight? I am not talking about a punch that landed in a ko instantly but one that changed the direction of a fight.

Ali-Lyle is a good example. The right hand that Ali landed out of nowhere led to Lyle being tko'd. Lyle was winning the fight up until that point.

Lewis-Bruno is another good example. Bruno was ahead on the scorecards but Lewis landed a left hook with his eyes closed and it somehow worked.

Apparently, Langford, while blind, landed a haymaker left hook to KO Tiger Flowers in a fight that he was losing up to that point.

Leonard/Hearns 1 - 2 right hands from Leonard (1 straight right hand in the 13th & an overhand right in the 14th) had Hearns on bambi legs both times.

    Randall knocking down Chavez.

Without it the biased Latin judges would have had the fight end in a draw.

The right had Saad landed on Marvin Johnson near the end of round 7 in their second fight. Johnson was clearly ahead at that juncture.

Rosario's hook to Camacho is often mentioned. It wasn't just fight changing but career changing.

I think a more interesting selection was Leonard’s left hook to the body (in the fifth?) that crumpled Hearns in half. It opened the door for Leonard to get back in the fight and switched roles where Tommy started boxing and Ray became the stalker.

It didn’t END the fight or lead to the end, but it changed the course for sure.

I’m not sure people appreciate the strategy Julian employed there. He was getting beat up, he had a detached retina and couldn’t see Herol or the punches coming and couldn’t track him down. So instead he set up in a corner where he knew where Graham would be if Herol was throwing punches and let go with a haymaker.

    The ultimate trap-fighting gambit.

Yep, the doctor and ref had told Jackson he had only one round before he stopped it, can’t believe graham fell for it knowing that info.

I'd argue the big right hand that Arguello landed on Pryor in the 13th that snapped his head back but didn't drop him or even stop his momentum - that took some of Alexis's heart in that moment. His punch output dropped after that.

Echoing above , the great Peter Wilson on reporting the Marciano/Walcott 1 fight wrote " it was a punch Walcott landed, rather than received that told him he wasn't going to win, it was a hard right from Joe to Rockys chin, after the bell had gone for the 5th round, Marciano didn't flinch " not bad.
