He isn't overrated at all. He doesn't lack skills at all. He isn't as gifted as Haye (for example) with enormous speed, power and explosiveness, but he is clearly better technically.
Over the hill Povetkin. LOL. Prime Povetkin was Undefeated until he had prime Klitschko in the ring. Klitschko also is larger and with better reach than Povetkin too. What a shame : lost fight by decision vs Prime Klitschko.
Put your beloved Canelo with someone who is considered VERY crude and not technically sound, but is bigger and stronger (Joe Smith Jr.) and Canelo might very well end the fight in the same position as Leo Santa Cruz today - being knocked the f*ck out
boxe if not talk about clinch, ofc he doesn't lack skills, amateur and pro resume proves that he does have A+++ level skills.
The only top guys in the division right now are Josh and Fury. Wilder's back with the rest of the hustlers, and I never favoured him to beat Usyk at any stage in his career anyway. Whyte I can see causing Usyk similar problems if he makes it a real roughhouse fight but still gets outboxed. Hunter might cause him some problems again but likely gets beaten down the stretch. Other than that who is there? Parker? Nowhere near enough ring iq. Ruiz? Too fat and static. Povetkin? Too old. Kabayel? Think I mentioned this before, but I can see him hanging with Usyk for a stretch; he's pretty underrated.
He's far more agile than Haye ever was, and is all round more coordinated. Haye was explosive but his balance was all over the place, and he often didn't have the best hand eye coordination. Usyk's the type of athlete that could do well in a number of sports; he's a lot more well rounded.
Is he? Haye outboxed a younger, fresher Chisora in the early rounds before stopping him brutally. Usyk was being outhustled by Chisora before he gassed out, and even then Usyk was on his bike not doing much to demotivate Chisora from plodding forward. No hard jab to speak of, or damaging counter punches. Prime Haye looked a force to be reckoned with at HW, don’t see the same with Usyk at all.
Nice logic, could you now apply that great! comparison skill of yours to another common opponent of Haye and Usyk?
Nah I’ll stick to the comparison where both guys were prime with 2 legs each. Haye looked a special fighter. Usyk not so much.
Lol, why? Bellew is only two years younger than Haye. Usyk knocked the **** out Bellew just a few months after Bellew knocked Haye out.
I favour AJ and Fury against him big time but I reckon Wilder can get Ko'd for his troubles. Dumbass would be way too easy for Usyk to get a read on.
TBF though, that version of David Haye was completely shot, had no Hayemaker (the shoulder surgery ruined his once explosve snapping power) and was a shell of the man who sparked out Chisora. Why do you think Adam Booth left him - he knew it was all over.
Its the biggest leap in boxing and its the hardest thing to do. So hold off with that harsh criticism.
