Inoue always wears them and you can always see the branding; this was the case for his fight on Saturday night as well. Here’s my guess on what happened: while hitting the pads and warming up, Davis must have felt some type of pain or discomfort in his hands. Winnings are the most protective gloves in existence. If you had a chart from least protective to most protective, Cleto Reyes and Everlast MX would be the least protective but best for power transfer. Then Rival RFX-Guerrero SF-F would be next, then in the middle you’d have Grant, Rival RFX Guerrero HDE-F, and Everlast Powerlock. Then the most protective are Fly and Winning. Because Mayweather and Davis have an existing relationship with Grant and their owner, Elvis Grant Phillips, they must have agreed remove the Winning logo (or used custom made Winnings that never had the logo on them to begin with).

Except that would require attaching a covering over the gloves and that wouldn't be prohibited. Adhesive and covering could irritate or scratch the opponent's face/eyes. But that's moot because you can see high res pictures of Tank's gloves and there's nothing covering anything up.

I shouldn’t have said covering up the logo...you can just peel the label right off. Or they could have had them made like that by Winning.

But he was wearing the il Tricolore aka of the flag of Italy. Those colours being green, white and red? So all white gloves wouldn't clash at all. Neither would green and red of course but if they were the wrong shade of green or red it could be problematic and maybe that's why they decided to opt for the other pair instead.

It's not a freaking sticker, dude. It's embossed.

It actually comes off easily on Grants, Reyes, and Winning. I’ve seen it come off in the middle of fights before. On the fight gloves, it’s just a sticker. You can use a hairdryer to take it off faster.

The red was on the original Grant gloves he was wearing. I’m not saying he didn’t change gloves. He obviously changed into Winning MS-200s. I’m just saying that the label on the Winnings was either removed or they were custom made without a label.

I highly doubt it's a sticker. Perspiration, flexing, bending... a sticker just wouldn't hold up. The brand of gloves isn't an issue for me.

I just want to know if Team LSC knew about the glove change.

A sticker leaves too much a possibility of a sharp edge as well.

It is basically a very thin sticker held on with some type of adhesive. If it was embossed, it would not be a perfectly flat surface and could potentially scratch someone. I’ve owned several pairs of Winning fight gloves and I assure you it is just a sticker. It usually will stay on fine for one fight but if you use them for training, it’s eventually going to come off. You can peel it off with your fingernails or a knife.

Well I'm not happy about the blue tape because that definitely clashes. But I guess that's down to those idiots up in the commission who are generally completely clueless when it comes to CCA. But the black logo also clashes too so I suspect that's the reason why they changed them for a different pair. But even if this was pure skullduggery and they did switch them for a loaded pair at the last minute poor CCA>>cheating and to be honest with you I'm OK with it.
