I agree with you that Frazier is overall better and greater than Marciano but I just can't favor Quarry and Bonavena over Charles and Moore (maybe Quarry I can see beating Moore)

Edit: Saw you were comparing the versions of Charles and Moore Marciano fought, in which case I agree wholeheartedly.

Mathis knocked Frazier down? News to me. You wouldn't happen to have footage would you? Because I've watched this fight countless times and just seem to miss the moment Frazier is knocked down. Must be getting old

    Hold on here.
You’re saying Marciano had a better record than Ali, but Ali beat better opponents?

Pretty much as I see it. You can make about as strong an argument for each guy. Tyson is probably in that bracket with them as well.

Maybe Charles too, actually. It would be his losses to Walcott that could exclude him. That he lost two hard fought fights against Rocky while being clearly past his prime is not really a blemish on his record, though.

Jeffries, Liston and Dempsey are clearly below them, though.

He wasnt down. Frazier walked through Mathis. A 240lb heavyweight with speed and coordination. Joe was never hurt. He was toying with Buster by the mid rounds punishing him for those amateur fights. If you watch the films you'll see Joe laughing and talking to Buster by round 5.
Quarry probably beats the version of Charles that Marciano faced perhaps easier than Rocky did. Moore as well. Walcott would be a lil tougher. Marciano's win over JJW is about on par with Jimmy Ellis except Joe made Roadkill out of Ellis.
Not 1 valid point yet but your deep into the conversation.
Keep throwing BS against the wall and see what will stick. Noting yet.

If you drink enough and watch it over and over you'll catch it. The commentators missed it as did the referee and everyone on the crowd. Their not fooling me.

That is a fair opinion. With that said if its close as pros. Wouldnt Frazier Olympic Gold Medal as a Heavyweight shade it his direction? If Rocky had the Olympic Gold Medal in his pocket I wouldnt even challenge this subject. Joe Frazier as it turned out was the 1st boxer in history to win the Olympic Heavyweight Gold Medal and then go on to capture the Heavyweight Championship of the World.

Are you aware Frazier won the Olympic Gold Medal at Heavyweight?

Regarding the WBA tournament what is disgraceful about Frazier beating the winner of the tournament ( Jimmy Ellis) and the #2 runnerup? Not to mention Oscar Bonevena 2x? The top 3 fighters from that were dispatched by Joe. Its beyond a reach.

Who was he ducking Thad Spencer?

The Gold is a nice touch. And pretty sure Ali won the gold and title before Frazier. As nice as an accomplishment as that is I don’t think it
Tops Rocky’s 49-0 and KO record. To me this would be the ultimate h2h matchup though.
