https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/54799626 Hearn, with no regard for Chisora's health: "It would be the fastest pay-per-view turnaround in history." Let's be honest. Having defeated Chisora twice already and with Chisora coming off a loss weeks prior, what does Whyte serve to gain? The risk far outweighs the small reward. If Whyte didn't manage to defeat Chisora, it would be humiliating.
It's perfectly in keeping with Whyte's career. Pointless PPVs to keep huge amounts of dough rolling in.
I agree it doesn't make sense (although both fughts have been very entertaining). I had Whyte winning the much debated first fight by several points. I think Hunter or Bakole would be much better options. Hrgovic too if he deals with his opponent this weekend easily as expected could also be an option. Could also chuck aload of money at Ortiz to see if he will take the fight at short notice as he claims he's always keeps in fight shape apparently.
Surely Usyk should get the offer before Chisora. Though I have a feeling Whyte would body swerve that fight like the plaque.
Both coming off a loss but they gel together in the ring so well! I would watch it again but would much prefer Whyte in with somebody new like Hunter. What I don't get is why the desperate need to get Whyte out again if the Povetkin option has gone? Let the man have Xmas off and come back stronger next year.
Hunter would probably beat Whyte, another defeat, b2b defeats, essentially destroys his career as a contender given his age and the level of opponents he's faced, I think they'll play it safe with this one.
Can't see Usyk being tempted. He's in too good a position holding the WBO mandatory position, why risk it?
Usyk is WBO mandatory and given that he's just fought no way does he risk Whyte on 2 weeks notice. Chisora on 2 weeks notice is a good fight.
That's all it is. Nothing in it for Whyte - already beaten him on pts then knocked him out. If rescheduling for jan he should wait til then IMO.
I’d be happy to see a 3rd fight. Doubt whyte would want to risk it though. I reckon we don’t see whyte fight until the new year once Povetkin recovers
