Wouldn't want to see it mainly because I think Chisora is on the decline now, even though I think Dillian isn't far behind. He's another who's had a lot of hard fights. I'd like to see Bakole jump in and get the fight if not Hunter. Im not sure Billy would advice him to take it on such short notice though.
Hunter should get it, it doesn't matter if its on PPV as most of Whyte's opponents weren't PPV quality anyway
Hunter has been absolutely done over by that draw v Povetkin. He's now going to get side stepped because he's a nightmare fight, brings no money to the table and has little to no promotional backing. With the Ustinov, Kuzmin and Bakole wins he should be in the mix. That being said he couldn't sell a PPV with Whyte and that's why Hearn won't put him in, unfortunately the Chisora fight will do more numbers. For what its worth I think Sky are in a bad spot. Takeaway AJ, Whyte is their only recognised PPV draw and Chisora is now off the table for a while anyway. Whyte is in limbo with the Povetkin situation as well as he needs that win back to move on. The 'whole 8 week schedule' that Adam Smith bangs on about is 2 PPVS to pay the bills, one of which has now been scrapped. Then you have the added issues of them passing on Brook, not getting Campbell (both staple Sky fighters) and the general awfulness of regular Sky regular fight nights. Sky need to look themselves in the mirror. If its true that Hearn controls their budget for non matchroom content (like he says) then its total disrespect for the fans.
It's difficult to see a path forward for him if he can't attract a promoter to back him climbing the mandatory ladder. A real shame because although I think he's a little too lacking in size and power to reach the very top, he's got all the skills and then some to at least give it a good go. The sad part is he carries himself with the same class you see in his boxing, but he'd probably have a deal right now if he had a mouth like Adrien Broner. I think they should cancel this PPV. There's no obvious replacement and it's too close to AJ v Pulev.
Hearn has said it will now be a non PPV headlined by Formella v Benn and Whyte will fight Povetkin on the 31st of January
Povetkin if hospitalised will never make it for 31 January surely. It’s reckless to even entertain it but it’s Hearn so no surprises there. Also if Whyte was to end up destroying Povetkin in one round his critics would say that he only beat a Covid-ridden shell of an opponent. Like I said in the other thread, Whyte should now forget about Povetkin and move on. He risks getting Tony Thompson’d as well with two consecutive KO defeats which would be the end of him really. Trying to fight Povetkin next year now sounds to me like a lose-lose situation because Whyte will never get his mandatory shot let’s be honest.
David Haye is doing his best to get Chisora seriously hurt and is really exposing himself as nothing but a money grabbing con-man. Haye is pimping Chisora out like he's some cheap *****, and he will end up like Danny Williams if he stays with Haye.
Chisnora and that slimebag Haye both money grabbing idiots. Bye bye Chisnora you’re done now as a draw you’re now a test for up and coming stars at best so stop this charade and stop trying to mug us fans off. Fight the winner of Joyce Dubois that’s worth watching not another beating at top level.
Thing is, if you give Whyte Christmas off, he'll come in at 25 stone with all the Christmas pudding he'll have scoffed. The man's been in awful shape the last couple of fights.
Dullian Whyte and Dull Boy Chisora have earned a fortune in PPV Loot for being modern day Danny Williams level fighters.
