So I agree with what you are saying in theory, but in reality it’s going to be different. Remember the power of the Matchroom narrative!

Beating Povetkin this time completely erases the original defeat and puts him back in the frame for Fury or another AJ fight. The Covid angle will get pushed to one side completely.

And if he loses again, he’s still enough of a PPV draw that fights against the likes of Usyk, Ruiz Jr, or even Allen, Price and Chisora again will still sell as part of a redemption/comeback story.

Its ****, it really is. But whereas you see another Povetkin fight as lose-lose (and it should be), I think it’s a no-lose, as Hearn and Whyte haven’t milked enough PPV loot yet!

Hearn would stage it in Povs hospital car park, and make him do his ring walk from his ward.

Gotta admire the sheer Old Schoolness of Chisora's offer.
Except, the old timers who fought every 2 or 3 weeks didn't get paid that kind of dough.
Chisora and Haye are out to get all the loot they can. Whyte too.
Like burglars, they wanna grab what they can and hope the mugths don't wake up.

They should give some of that ppv money to the Peter Buckleys of the game.

Hunter as well, offering to fight for "free". I don't doubt that he is exaggerating and would probably command a low purse but he's willing to get in there on short notice and save the show. Chisora just wants the dough whereas Hunter wants the spot and the rewards in the ring.

I would rather see Dillian Whyte in against Hunter than the Povetkin rematch, it's an intriguing fight.

No way is it PPV, but then again neither should the first Povetkin fight have been either.

The rest of the card will apparently go ahead anyway though so it's no big loss if Dillian does not fight. Whyte Chisora part 3 would be a bit embarrassing surely? How can you have a remotely credible trilogy in which one fighter has won the first two fights! The last one by devastating KO too, and the opponent just fought and lost a few days ago...

It is promising that many people are waking up to multi millionaire promoters, boxers and Broadcasters mugging the public with pay per pudding contests.

There is still work to be done until justice is achieved for boxing fans - all future PPV Mugths need our help or they will continue to be fleeced by the professional conmen operating in our sport.

I'm still trying to work out how Whyte vs Povetkin 2 is a PPV fight. The first one was bad enough but two PPV fights for a mandatory world title spot...Jesus..

How many PPVs has Whyte been involved with? Will the Povetkin rematch make it 5?

    Why not?

From recent interviews I've seen from Billy he mention Martin has shed a lot of weight following his last visit to Kongo and hes been ticking over training.

Would be too big an opportunity to turn down.

Might actually be a blessing that its pushed back because it was a quick turnaround from a bad knockout

Surley the WBC can make the fight for the interim interim belt as the interim champ is out of action?

If Povetkin is actually quite ill it would be ridiculous for him to be rushed back in the ring around January.
At his age he's been on his way out for a while. Surely he ought to retire if he's got a bad case of covid19.

Hopefully he'll retire if he's been hit bad. Health is worth more than a sack of ppv loot, regardless how big the sack is.
