Since it's demotion after the WBA SUPER belt came out. Do you class it as a proper belt? Do you consider Canelo to be champ at 168, or Trevor Bryan to be heavyweight champion of the world? Well?
Regular belt is total BS. Although there are some regular champs who are legit like Rene Alvarado, Carlos Canizales and Joshua Franco. Also Trevor Bryan in an interim champ.
I really don’t know, the super belt seems to have replaced it which is ridiculous, it’s only a matter of time before a super duper belt becomes a thing
WBA reg/WBA Super... whoever had it first I guess should be seen as the more rightful WBA beltholder.
I ignore it unless there isnt a duper champion which basically never happens bow cause WBA want those fees.
Personally if I was boxing I’d rather have the British titles for my weight class over that belt. That or a gift card to In & Out burgers. Either is worth more....
It's a glorified number-one contender's trophy as far as I'm concerned...which the WBA then ignores anyway because of course, they do.
Don’t recognise it at all and at moment the wbc lightweight title Haney has. Lomo won it and lost it to Teo. Interim titles can do one also On another note I don’t call fighters champions unless they fight the recognised top contender. So Fury is the champ beating the poor excuse man for wbc title. Otherwise I call them titlists
A belt fan use to claim their guy is a belt holder, a champ. When in reality it’s a belt that says I’m second best. Something shiny to go play with in the corner while the real champ takes care of business.
