With the Canelo fight evaporated like a fart in the fog for both is everyone involved gong to see sense and get this long overdue domestic unification bout done? There's no reasonable explanation for both fighters not wanting this imo but something is not quite right here, the Canelo fight can't be held up as an excuse now.
BJS boxes in less than 4 weeks. Smith has been out of the ring nearly as long as Josh Warrington so you would have to question his desire.
Billy Joe Saunders and Callum Smith are boxers, so is Josh Warrington. Billy Joe Saunders and Callum Smith are World Champions, so is Josh Warrington. Callum Smith is from Liverpool, so is Josh Washington if you think Leeds and Liverpool are the same place. Back on the thread topic, this fight will never happen and if it did BJS would just be on his bike the whole night delivering what he thinks is a masterclass. I don't want him getting any kind of payday until he puts the dedication in and fights someone decent.
Problem is with Smith vs BJS. They will both be expecting massive purses but I dont think this will have much interest at all. For as much as it's a fight i would want to see.
Rhetoric? Apart from Smith and Warrington, name a Matchroom world champion without a scheduled fight and then ask yourself why?
There would be literally zero commercial interest in this fight, but neither have anywhere else to go. Saunders will probably do even further damage to his appeal, after the Murray fight which has 12 stinker written all over it. Eddie should tell both here’s the date for March 2021, the purse is 50/50 - take it or both of you fcuk off elsewhere.
I just don't think either of them are that keen for it, Smith is going to have to go up in weight soon, BJS won't, they'll drag it out for too long. Look at the names on BJS's record, for one reason or another he's not had the quality fights and I think he believes he's worth far more than he'd be offered for the fight. I'm glad you asked though as my original post was a little vague, I used to try and like BJS but I'm done with him now, he wastes everyone's time, including his own.
BJS entire career has been made up of warm up fights. With the exception of Lemieux. How many warm ups is he going to need to face the weight bully. Would the weight bully even be physically capable of making SMW given how long he has been out for?
