Unlike with Fimo, Loma has no reason to fear the firepower in this matchup. Haney isn't as good as Lopez, and isn't ready for Loma.
This right here. Haney doesn't have at all the same power. He's got size length and legs, but he doesn't have the power. Haney hasn't fought anything resembling a live body.
I pick Hey-knee eight days a week and I don't look back. And I don't think watching these guys fight is going to change my mind, as I haven't made the time yet.
Lomachenko, wide and clear. Haney hasn't got the power needed to get Lomachenko to respect him, or the work rate to out work him. He seems to lack that 4th and 5th gear needed at the top level imo
Haney is still learning how to fight at this level. He doesn’t have Teo’s power or ring IQ at this stage. Give him some time to develop and I think he will be very good. At this stage, Loma beats him convincingly because he doesn’t need to respect his power, even though Haney would have a major size advantage on fight day. Once he learns how to use that size effectively, he could be a top LW. Haney has the tools to be very good. Let’s see him fight a couple good LWs before making long term predictions. Gamboa was a fun gatekeeper but the guy Haney and Tank beat wasn’t the same one Crawford beat a long time ago. Gamboa isn’t even a legit top ten LW at this stage. He’s a decent opponent and a shell of his former self.
Loma schools him. Shakur is the only LW besides Teo that can trouble Loma and that includes Tank. Might be a return of Nomaschenko in the middle rounds for Haney
Depends on the fight he fights. Haney is fast enough to counter him, and stick and move with him, but looks to hug instead of fight inside, similar to Lopez. Loma could win by coming forward with pressure, and beating him up in the clinch.
Yeah, as with all the posts above, the thing that kept Loma cautious was Teo's power. Haney has speed but wouldn't keep Loma off him.
