And Manny was well known for hyperbole. Taking his words at face value is pretty foolish.

Manny said the same crap about Oba Carr, Hearns was by far more skilled than G-man.

They really weren`t that good compared to elite middles down the years.

You mentioned Eubank v G-man being a great jabbing contest, someone countered mentioning Robi and Leonard I just added to it, nothing random about Robi`s lauded jabbing skills, Eubank and G-man were not at that level, at least G-man cracked the ring mag`s top 10 P4P fighters though.

Leonard knocked out a light heavy while Eubank never proved that he could.

Chess match? No, what would happen is Eubank would take a bit of a pasting for the first few rounds then take over once McClellan runs out of steam, that's what would happen.

Afraid not. Rangey McClellan is not going to charge a elusive counter puncher and slick mover like Eubank - he never did that to anyone anyway until he dropped Steward; he took his time and boxed. Often his jab was working so well he timed an overarm right or hook downstairs early to end it. You couldn't touch Eubank with the jab - his slight head slips were very deft and judgement of distance quite precise.

    Extremely poor comprehension.

Eubank takes the early rounds, in full posturising mode, but McClellan wins on points once he's measured him properly with his boxing ability and got used to his awkward style.

McCallum always gave his amateurs in Vegas tapes of Eubank Sr to watch and would tell them to study the ring generalship for four rounds, insisting that there were very few - if none - who mastered it better.

Now, we're talkin' the G-Man prior to the Nigel Benn fight, right?
