Only in today’s climate you’ll be able to say it’s a unification when one belt is an lesser version of the other..

    After witnessing Ryder manhandle Smith.

Canelo does whatever he damn well wants to.

At this point I think I fancy the ginger one against anyone but Beterbiev below 200.

Beterbiev is just a bit different

Canelo can certainly out box him, but can't out run or out slug him and I am pretty sure that's what he would be forced to do.

If Callum Smith makes the big mistake of trying to outbox Canelo (thinking he can use his range), he will lose and get picked a part.

If Callum Smith comes in as brave and uncompromising as Deontay Wilder, Canelo will get caught and Stopped. Callum Smith has the physical advantages that should allow him to KO Canelo with one punch, but is he as mentally strong as Deontay Wilder, can he ignore the score cards and envision himself stopping Canelo with one punch?

KO artists have unconditional belief in themselves and when they have the range, the KO happens. No way can Canelo survive for 12 rds if Callum Smith comes looking for a KO and KO only.

 Yes, Canelo, who has one of the tightest defenses in boxing, will get bumrushed by Callum Smith.
Smith will be made to miss, which will slow him down. No matter who you are, if you miss punches, you are going to throw less.
Smith will then eat counters, which will slow him down. No matter who you are, a good counter shot will make you think twice, at least for a split second.
Smith will then tire and get torn apart.

Dumbest post I have read this month. Just shows how little you know of the sport. My God...

You just don't know what you're on about tbh. Kovalev displayed nothing of his usual jab in that fight. It was a glorified sparring session with Kovalev uninterested, throwing jabs without intent, barely throwing a right hand, no in out/lateral footwork, not reacting to Canelos counters (watch the Yarde and Eleider Alvarez fight where he is very reactive to their punches whereas with Canelo hes nonchalant.. Just embarassing anyone who thinks that fight is legit is just outright deluded/naive.

It's not a unification but its a damn good fight. Looking forward to this one, and glad it's Smith, not Plant.

I think Canelo's pressure is all wrong for Smith, once he gets inside he'll ripen the body and KO him late with an overhand (very similar to Kovalev, as mentioned) but Smith's gonna end up landing some of those wicked round shots and he gets very good leverage when he has the right distance. Canelo will probably take it away from him when he gets inside.

If you call what Deontay Wilder does (bum rushing), then you have your own perspective of boxing. Its the fault of your programmer who didn't add that your algorithm yet...he is probably doing biological things (something droned-bots will never experience)

The Great Deontay Wilder floored every man he faced, matched Muhammad Ali title defenses...using Kinetic Violence and nothing else, it was purposeful all-out violence strategy....not a a bum-rush or a lucky hay maker.

Bum Rushing is what Mcneely did to Mike Tyson...

If Smith collects the bonus-pay from DLH upfront (the drama is to hide that Canelo is still on on the DLH juice), Callum Smith can play along, come relieve Ginger...if he fails he tells them he was pulling his punches and wanted to put up a show. If he KTFO 5'6" Canelo he can have a gyspy crew to spirit him away...convert his cash to something else and resurface after the big shakedown....Callum Smith is not a down-on-his-luck Alcoholic-addict who will cash-out his Birth-right for soon to be worthless fiat. One good punch will ruin the plans of so many uncreative owners, it will be great story for his grand children.

Callum Smith is a brave champion, he can't be intimidated by skirt wearing blackmailed pedophiles...and of course ignore bots that are programmed by nobodies, the product is the projection of its creator

    Watchlist preparing for the fight
    • Deontay Wilder KO victories
    • We Shall fight on the beaches
    • Pulp Fiction

    This is a good fight.

If it is on DAZN doesn't say Canelo's beef was more more towards Oscar and Golden Boy than DAZN.

Canelo is playing it smart here. He can basically go where the money is and not sign any long term deal with any network. This could be on DAZN as could a GGG fight but he could go and fight on ESPN vs a top rank fighter or showtime/fox vs say a Charlo.

Plot twist. This is just a prank from Canelo and he will announce that he will fight Yildirim for 8 figures. :deal:

Why's it weird? He's won the lottery here tbh bearing in mind he probably wouldn't have got it if he rightly took an L in his last fight.disagree about it not being a foregone conclusion, smith has no chance of stopping Canelo imo and that's what he will need to do.

Johnson was offered a 4 fight deal by Hearn with the Buatsi as the 3rd fight and he and Gallagher turned it down immediately.

Gallagher is trying to milk as much money as possible from his fighters by acting as manager and trainer..

Johnson should be challenging the likes Joe Smith or Bivol and trying to work into contention. Instead he keeps telling stories about how he "nearly" had Beterbiev out of there.

Get over it, Callum. Go grab life by the balls and take charge of your destiny.
