Yes, but the reason why is important. He's a real fighter that comes to fight and throw punches an is not afraid to get hit. I am shocked at those picking Hunter, here to be honest but that is okay, as the credit for a dominating win will be more in the boxing community. That is if this board is a fair representation of the fans. Those picking against Hrgovic must be missing his accuracy, speed, length ,and one punch power. The must me unaware of Hrgovic's multiple medals as an amateurs and but kicking in the very pro like old series of boxing. After seeing him in the Olympics, I predicted he will be the next champion. Notthing has happened to show me otherwise. He's beating on guys in the gym. People don't want to fight him. Hunter has too. So now Hunter is next, I hope. And that's better than the guy Fury is fighting and most Wilder title defenses, isn't it? I say yes. How about you? Just because he is fighting lesser fighter on the way up doesn't mean they aren't as durable.
Hm I'll be honest I'm a hunter skeptic (thought povetkin won their fight) but also think stylistically it may favor hunter. I guess if I had to pick i lean towards hunter for that reason tho just bc I pick him h2h against hrgovic doesn't mean I think he necessarily does better against other hws
McGain, Honesty I see as a mismatch. If Im wrong, and Hrgovic losses, I'll nearly fall out of my chair. Hrgovic is very hard to out box. Put it to you this way the last time he lost, omitting the robbery in Rio was 2014 via split decision amateur loss in the WSB at age 21. He's much better now. A fully grown man. Hunter is not Jimmy young, with Quarry countering and the chin of say Tua. Those who saw Hunter pre pro know he struggles vs big guys who can box and punch. Question for you. Do you think Hunter is better than Fury's next opponents? Where would you rate Hunter among Wilder title defenses? A big win here and he better's Old Povekrin's mark of a draw, and passes Usyk who beat Hunter 117-110 on
I think Hrgovic either knocks him out or wins by 4 points or more on the cards. Better clarification? If you want a specific call, I'll pick Hrgovic via 7th round TKO. Question for you, do you think Hunter is better than the guy ( Kaybel )Fury is giving a title defense this December? Where you you place Hunter among Wilder title opponents? Thanks.
Id back Hrgovic to win if im honest But would not be shocked in the slightest if he lost Hunter is really good and will cause at least one big upset given the chance And cmon Hrgovic dont fight everyone, Bakole wanted it and he said no apparently Id love to see him and Babic too, that would be a lot of fun
Was a bit pissed at the ref tbf, but it's a really tricky one. And Hrgovic was out of line, what he said at the stoppage In the end, that was a bit of a no win and he's really moving on now, so fair enough.
I think Hrgovic either knocks him out or wins by 4 points or more not the cards. Better clarification? Question for you, do you think Hunter is better than the guy Fury is giving a title defense this December? Where you you place Hunter among Wilder opponents? Okay, I think Hunter would rate among the top 4 for Wilder. Fury, Ortiz, and ?? Probably Hunter. Point being Fury as the lineal champion is not fighting better, the certified belt Milker in Wilder seldom did.
Babic, a 5-0 is calling him out. Means nothing. Maybe Hrgovic will fight him for an in-between warm up fight two local undefeated types would sell in their country. Bakloe hasn't fought in a year. If he can beat a top 20 opponent, sure the fight can happen later.
I like you am picking Hrgovic in this match up, but I wouldn't go as far to say it's shocking people have picked Hunter. Hunter has a better resume as a pro heavyweight with wins over Bakole, Kuzmin, Ustinov and that draw with Povetkin. Sure Povetkin is past his best but he was still good enough to KO a top 5 heavyweight in his last outing. Hunter has a good jab, moves well, is a better combination puncher, has a good right hand and has quicker hands than Hrgovic, it's not unfathomable that people would pick him over the relatively untested Hrgovic. But having said all that my pick is still Hrgovic. While Hunter has beaten big men in Bakole and Ustinov, Hrgovic is far more agile than either of them, sure he backs up in straight lines but I still think Hunter is going to have more issues getting into range as Hrgovic is far better at controlling range than anyone Hunter has fought since Usyk. Plus the way he uses his left forearm to block jabs, I think Hunter who prefers to box on the outside before coming in is going to have less success with his usually dominant jab. As a Hunter fan I hope I'm wrong, maybe he can find a way to win, but I doubt it. I think he'll have his moments as he is a good fighter but the style match up for me favours Hrgovic.
Not sold on Hrgovic but he should KO Hunter. Neither guy is hard to hit but Hrgovic at least has legit HW power.
Very well. Your are right, Hrgovic is agile, much longer and hits harder. Fast hands too. Hunter will realize he's out gunned early, and can't out jab a taller man with a longer reach meaning he has to come forward to take punches in the exchanges where he lacks power. It's just not going to work for him, you'll see. I would not call the Baloke win a clean one. Wasn't he injured? Ustinov is old , fat and slow. vs Hrgovic, Hunter is giving up 4 " in height, about 3" in reach, and 20 pounds in weight...and doesn't hit hard enough to make up for it. He's not going to throw more punches either so winning on the cards is unlikely for Hunter. Not to bash Hunter too much, he deserved to be top ten ranked and is in his prime. To use an example although neither fighter has reached that level, this will be like Wlad vs Byrd.
